Hello xxgraffiti87,
Entire TELEPHONE offices have been caught in MUD-SLIDES:
The documented recovery process is to IMMEDIATELY remove all power... Water wash (fire hose) the equipment...
Air pressure clean the equipment and place massive fans while measuring humidity...
Restore power ONLY when humidity is at or below normal.
All that to avoid
ELECTROLYSIS...
~~
In addition to the
Battery distribution...
you have a
GROUND distribution...
If you suspect an
OPEN circuit... it is an IDEAL APPLICATION for a wire
TONE-TRACER ... (see example below)
(they ONLY work on "open" circuits... You may have to pull a
fuse of
bulb to PROPERLY trace...
but it can find a multitude of troubles)
BEFORE you get to very exotic about key readers, transponders...
ELECTRONICS (et al).. You need to check your
BODY grounds
(specifically)...
Lights working/not working is a good sign...
What
SHOULD have been done was to
REMOVE ALL POWER... (keep off until totally dry)...
WD40... & compressed air... LOTs.
NOW... you might be able to clean corrosion with commercial corrosion cleaners... Brass bristle brush ... (try not to remove or further damage the
FACTORY SURFACE
).
No sloshing or firehoses...
I use white vinegar
& Q-Tips... Followed with clean water... then
Isopropyl Alcohol (70% or better)...
Lots of AIR...
AIR DRY (for days)...
Sparingly apply a anti-oxidant
(again... I first apply
WD40... (water displacement)
Clean it all away & apply white lithium grease...
WD40 also sell a
WHITE LITHIUM GREASE...
Do not confuse with the WATER DISPLACEMENT PRODUCT...!!
WD 40 Wikipedia
With power applied
corrosion/oxidation will grow
quickly & should be easily seen...
Use
FREE wiring diagrams to find main ground clusters.
(see below) brass wire, clean & dry all connections...
apply
white lithium grease ...
(very sparingly to any visible corrosion)
Sealed units (like headlight
relays... You have a BUNCH)
You might want to consider going to a wreaking yard with
a picnic basket...
If they got submerged... it is HIGHLY LIKELY they are STILL MOIST (inside)... and will only get worse.
