What about it? It is located under your altanator, close to the firewall. Kinda a pain to get to.

Car will not idle

If your car will not idle it could be a few issues. 1. Your IAC (Idle air control motor) is shot2. You have a vacuum leak3. fuel filter is clogged4. you are leaking power, most likely out of spark plug wires5. needs a tune up6. bad gas7. clogged injectors8. map sensor9. mass air flow sensorSince you have located a rip in an intake hose, I would replace it. Depending on where it is located, and if it has wires plugged into it depends on the part. If it is black and has ridges in it, it is the mass air flow sensor. Other hose which are mostly just a generic hose and can be purchased at any auto store

My 98 Buick LeSabre is spitting & sputtering.

Before you said you didn't want to put $ into a new oxy sensor, I was thinking that was the problem. Vacuum hoses may be a part of it, but I am not too familiar with them causing the kind of sputtering you are talking about. When did the change occur? It may be a fuel pump, but it sounds complicated enough to have a real mechanic look at it.
