I took my Chevy into the dealership last week because my warning light had came on for my power steering and the wheel is difficult to turn. I was told that the electronic sensor in my steering column needs to be replaced. Is there anywhere where i can buy this part? Or is this something i need to have done only at the dealership

I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu. The cigarette lighter and power port don't work. Even though the fuse looked fine and tested fine, I replaced it. Still doesn't work. There are three fuse boxes and I think that I checked every fuse in all three. BUT, is there another fuse somewhere that controls this as well? Or, could this be not fuse related at all?
im having the exact same problem....fuses are good and replaced socket but still not working...both the dash mounted and console mounted ones are not working.

It is the part that the oil filter screws onto. I am leaking where this attaches to the engine block. It seeps and spews when pressure builds in the engine so I am loosing a lot of oil daily.
Easy fix I just did. (replacing the oil filter adapter gasket which is a common leak). Remove the air cleaner tube and housing. Release the tension on the belt. Remove the two front bolts on the air compressor. They are nuts but the stud will come out too which is fine. Under the car loosen the third air compressor bolt. This will give you enough room to loosen the hidden bolt on the oil filter adapter. It only needs to be loosened as the adapter is slotted there. Remove the other two bolts on the oil filter adapter and remove. Replace the gasket and install.

what fuse box is my lighter fuse in 2005 chevy malibu classic
The cigarette lighter fuse on your 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic is located at the rear end of the car. To access it, pop open the trunk and look for a fuse box on the driver side of the vehicle - it'll be under a carpeted cover. Remove the cover, then the lid of the fuse box, and you will find your lighter fluid in the middle on the bottom row.

how to program key fob GM/L:22733524
Since you have a Malibu, you have to take it to a Chevy dealer. They have a hand-held computer they plug into your car to activate the BCM ( body control module) to go into programming mode to accept the new transmitter. Probably cost around $50-$60? You can call them for an estimate.

my factory remote started will not work due to the hood latch sensor. I tried to find a replacement but could not. There are three wires going to the sensor. A yellow, black and purple. When I connect the black and purple together the remote started works. Will leaving this connected cause any electrical issues down the road?
hi Thomas
connecting the sensor 2 wires will not drain the battery or causing problems but, if some one open up the hood. the alarm will not goes of

How to reset check engine light on chevy malibu
You need an OBD-II scan tool to do that. You can get them at auto parts stores fairly cheap. Be sure that the one you get is not just a code reader....some will read but not reset codes.
