Car want start factor security light flashing and

The factory security light will remain on - this is a standard feature indicating the car is dead.
First, unplug the hazard fuze in the engine bay (this will reset the ecu and remove the flashing)

Next, replace the battery with a new one (or one with proper charge) - keep in mind a small battery will not do anything for these cars, the engines require a lot to push them over (it isnt a honda)
*Make sure to clean the positive and negative battery cables from acid

Then just start it up :)

1990 nissan 300zx nonturbo - change alternator belt how?

If you look at the front of the alternator, behind the belt, you'll see a curving grooved metal track - that's the adjuster track for the alternator. There's a bolt going through the groove into the alternator, which holds the alternator in place. You need to loosen that. I believe it's a 14mm bolt. You may also need to loosen a couple of the 12mm bolts that mount either the bracket or the alternator, to allow it to move. You'll probably find that it's easier to cut the old belt off (so it's out of the way) and then do the bolt work with a little more room to spare. Belt changes are always a pain on these cars - stick with it even if it takes awhile. If that doesn't get the alternator loose, loosen or remove other bolts on the alternator mount or on the track mount, and it will move eventually - not much, but it'll move. You may find that you can partially seat the belt on the alternator pulley, but can't get the belt fully onto the pulley. If that's the case, get it as far on as you can, and then put a 27mm socket on a long breaker bar, put the socket on the crank pulley bolt, and with the car in neutral, rotate the crank pulley by hand. This will pull the belt onto the alternator pulley.

Brake light stays on

You probably have a bad brake light switch. The switch is located under the dash, mounted to the arm of the brake pedal. There is also a wire harness connected to the switch - try unplugging that harness, then check if the brake lights are off. If so, replace the switch.

How do i install water pump

To being you will need to remove everything in front of the engine - including the fan, the serpentine belts, and the crankshaft pulley. The bolts for the water pump are located UNDER the timing cover, so getting these covers off are the only way to do it. You don't have to change the timing belt - but since you're in there, you might as well. BUT, if you dont understand the concept of timing marks, etc - dont touch the belt. Just leave it on there, especially if you dont have a ton of miles on the belt.Once everything is removed and the bolts are clearly visible for the water pump, it's safe to say that you've made it to the top of the hill. You can now remove it and add the gasket/sealer and start buttoning everything back up.When you remove the crankshaft pulley, be sure that you've checked a few forums with regards to setting the parking brake and putting the car in gear. I've read about it being done, but I didn't do it, myself. Maybe there is a reason why they did it this way, so check ALL OPTIONS before you begin your repair. There's more than one way to skin a cat, so I'm just telling you ohw I did it - not necessarily the only way to do it.Give yourself about 5 to 6 hours to do this. Feel free to take breaks and just no rush yourself. Let's give you 7hrs, just to relieve a little pressure off of you!

300zx only has1st gear and 3 gear?

Your gears are stripped, must remove Transmission and open to see what is wrong, you can drain fluid and probley see metal shavings from gears. These types are easy to rebuild, but it's best to get a remanufactured one, everything inside will be new versus just replacing bad parts.I have a 85 nissan 4x4,replaced mine 4 years ago with a reman, and it still works great.I paid 700.00 for trans.,it's a 5- speed.Came with a year warranty and synthetic oil is used.

1990 300 zx transmission problems

I also have a 1990 300zx N/A 2+2, the transmission is computer driven, as is almost everything on the car has different computers.
1st look at the fluid and fluid level, make sure that it is red or pink, not black, smell it and if it smells burnt, you might need to replace the tranny, due to that's a bad sign of internal damage. next I would try a junk yard for the computer and try that, finally I would go to a trusted mechanic and have them diagnose your problem, unless you have a good mechanic that will diagnose the car for around $50, then go there first, due to the complexity of the transmission.

1990 300zx 2+2 Non Turbo

That means the transmission is going into Limp mode - something's wrong that is making the car believe it can be damaged by the speeds the upper gears will allow you to reach. For starters, check the fluid level (or just change it - it's not a bad idea), and disconnect the battery for an hour or so to put the ECU into relearn mode - this will clear current fault codes and allow you a fresh start to see if the condition reappears, or if it was a fluke failure of some part that caused the car to repeatedly go into limp mode.
