2002 Mitsubishi Galant intermittent miss between 2500-3000 rpm
How about a worn out Converter?
How about a dirty air filter?
Why change the MAF verse cleaning it & then
looking at the scan tool data for your altitude?
Who replaces an ECU & why ,not a vehicle owner,
only shops when they are out of knowledge !
You have the PO300 Code
So you have cylinder misfires, thus the rich condition,
or one reason & thus the high HC & CO ,but not the
only reason, I would guess
Do the oxygen sensors have 100,000 miles on them ?
Have you looked at scan tool data,O2,Fuel Trim & MAF
Ideas --- your pretty much at your end & need help.
You have to look at cylinder misfire counts on start up,idle,
on a road test & also look at Emission Monitors, to see of they
run, as well as Freeze Frame Data
Just need more tools the shops have & more experience
Sort of thrown parts at it too soon or too many
First is always the battery
Then a code check
Then the road test with the scanner
Then the catching up on Preventative Maintenance
NO Parts get installed until you find a problem & have Component Tested (not hung parts)
Parts have to fail & a problem found, before you can come up
with a solution, especially when you fail inspection, you really
have issues that you shouldn't have, failing is one thing, failing
badly,I never have those issues,BUT- I keep working & testing
and learning ,when the vehicle is working okey, not wait until it
fails, then you have no data you recorded or diagnostic practice
to fall back on
