Usually the rotor button can only be put back on in one direction. Look at the bottom of it there should be a small piece of metal there. Line that piece of metal up with the piece that looks like a a big pin inside.

had that problem on my camaro. turned out to be a crank sensor on mine. also theres a small actuating valve on the intake i dont remember the name of it now but that could cause the same thing to happen if it gets carbon built up in it.and it is a cheaper fix than my crank sensor ..id check that first

I would check to see if your coolant has gone down, you might have a gasket leak into a engine cylinder

Your alternator is bad you need a new one to check remove the red positive cable from the batterie while the car remains running and if the motor shuts off while the batterie cable is removed then you have a bad alternator and if it remains running while the red cable is off then your battery is bad try that and see where you end up

This is purely related to a primary fault in the fuel system but the ignition also needs to be checked.
So check the fuel filter remove carburetor and check the fuel chambers and ports for dirt and clogging. Check the fuel jets and see if these are clean.'
Now check the spark plugs, the gap and the spark intensity, if not check the HT coil, the HT wires.
Now the tuning requires the attention of an expert as when you tune the engine the condition will be evident. The fuel/air mixture and the ignition timing must allow the engine to idle with even motion.
On raising of the RPM the engine must come up in power easily.
I am sure if these two setting are in order the engine must work efficietly. However is the engine has clocked more miles, then the compression ratio , the valve settings must be checked.

1) Warm up engine first(run 5-10 mins) 2)Shut off engine 3) Back out on the idle speed screw until it justt doesn\'t touch the throttle linkage. Then screw it in back about 11 turns 4) Screw in the A/F mixture screw until it stops(do not force tighten) 5) Screw out the A/F mixture screw 2 full turns 6) Start the car. It will run like its choking. As long as it\'s running it\'s ok. 7) Now turn in the A/F screw until engine dies. If this happens, turn out the A.F screw half turn at a time to bring it back. (try to start the car of coz) 8)Continue to turn out the A/F screw at half turns every 3 seconds. Engine will pick up speed. Continue to screw out until the point engine runs worse. When that happens screw back in half turn every 3 secs to the point engine runs smoothest.(do this by ear or watch engine vibration) 9) Now set the idle speed. Go on the air conditioner. Watch the tachometer. Turn in the idle speed screw until rpm is around 900 to 1000 rpm. 10) Now it\'s ready to rumble..

besides draining the whole fuel tank -- the next best thing to do is to drain out the fuel filter completely and re-install,AND then go to your local auto parts store and buy some stuff call 'HEAT' ( this is a gas additive that removes water that may be in the tank ) and add this to the tank,, don't worry about the the correct amount to add ( fuel to heat ratio ) -- just pour the whole little bottle into the tank. now while you are at the parts store -- also pick up a 'octane booster' ( like 'Octane101' or something similar ) and add this to your tank along with the 'Heat'. between the two this will help curve the bad fuel. now since bad fuel does not burn very clean it is also a good idea to remove,check and clean your spark plugs,, if they look kinda on the so-so side, replace them with new ones,, this will ensure that you have good spark ( which is very important !! ).
now this has happened to me twice and to a few of my friends -- AND I would call the gas station that you got the fuel from and tell them that you got bad gas there,, I have actually got one of them to pay for the fuel clean out chemicals that I had to buy to fix the problem.
IF you want it done 100% correctly,, you can drain the fuel tank completely and start with new fuel,, but if you have a FULL tank - this could be kinda a big pain.. the best way to drain the tank would be to disconnect the fuel pump DELIVERY side line and just let the fuel pump pump the fuel from the tank into small gas cans,( you will need to buy a small hose to attach to the fuel pump to feed into the small gas tanks ),,, and then start with new fuel,, remember to drain out the fuel filter and check and clean the spark plugs.

A malfuctioning fuel injector may cause several different things to occur. For the mercedes, they actually have a mind of their own as the car manufacturer decided they wanted a unique system of fuel injection, at least different then that of most systems. The control valve may act up and not allow fuel to inject at intervals. Instead, it may take be clogged with debri, gunk, and other trash which needs to be serviced in a shop to be repaired. One very common activity with your fuel injector is it may cause the valve to stay closed and burn gas in a manner that is inconsistent with normal gas usage, the vehicle will start to blow out black and dark smoke out the rear end, trick your cars oxygen sensor, and allow the system to burn a larger amount of fuel for the same mileage. This problem needs to be solved in a shop where the equipment is available to make adjustments and flush out your system. IM SENDING MORE INFORMATION YOUR WAY. Let me know once you recieve this.

Try taking of the throttle body and giving it a good cleaning.

1-3-4-2 is firing order

the fuel pump is inside the gas tank,when you replace it ,replaced the strainer also -make sure the strainer is exactly the same otherwise the aftermarket stainer will hit the bottom of the tank and it wont let you install the fuel pump assy. -take out the fuel pump assy -take it with you so you can compare it at the parts store good luck

As far as i know, original stock carburetor for Lancer 1989-1992 engine 4G15 12 valve is Aisan Variable Venturi. It have 3 screws :
- air-fuel mixture screw
- main jet adjusting screw
- idle adjusting screw

You connect a fuel pressure gauge to it. The gauge set has many adaptors that can be used for almost any cars. It is expensive tho. That is the only way to know how much pressure it is putting out. Althou you dont really need a pressure gauge to find out if it is not putting enough pressure. Symptom of weak fuel pump,is hessitation on acceleration, Altho a malfuntioning ignition system also causes hessitation problem. If you posted exactly what the car is doing, I maybe able to help you without you having to buy a pressure gauge which is very expensive.

Could be too full or check thermostat is working.

you may have an injector (s) stock in the open position cank engine over ,remove spark plugs to see if they are wet with fuel, also chech the resistance on the pump electrical circuite

replacing distributor cap, rotor button, plugs, and wires should do the trick.
