1990 Mitsubishi Montero Questions & Answers
My 1990 mitsubishi montero 4X4 3.0 will not start
At the age of the vehicle, the problem could be most anything. If it is like some of the chevrolets of that time frame. you should first check the coil, then the ignition module. Low compression could mean a blown head gasket, but for all cyclinders, I would guess an overhaul would be necessary, combined with the other problems, unless the car has a special meaning for you, i would replace the vehicle.
Need simple fix for my plow truck
Most larger lawn mowers run plastic fuel tanks so look around for a tank that will fit in your tanks space. Have you checked for an after market plastic tank for your machine as the rust problem may have been corrected by the maker of the fuel tanks. Use plastic lines ( suitable for use with fuel-- silicon lines are good but expensive)
How to get the computer codes from a 1990 Montero,
The ECM connector is under the glove box, down low. You will need an analog meter to get the codes, pretty easy to do. Yo will use the 2 of the PINS within the connector. The meter will give you sort of a Morse Code as to what is good or bad (sensors or with the ECU) If you like I have info I can email to you, tried to post on fixya but files are too large.
I hope this may have assisted you,
Tom
