Engine #4G94 Mitsubishi Pajero IO coil running hot when ignition is on
coils are normally hot when the engine is running but if it is over hot ( burn to touch) then it may be a 74.5 volt resisted coil running on 12 volts . IT may be excessive current draw through it from a faulty ignition module in the distributor or it may be just a failing coil.. Leaving an ignition on without running the engine will overheat a coil.

It sounds like the diodes in the alternator are gone, check the charging system with a volt meter at the battery,it should read 13.65 volts to 14.25 volts with the headlights on,and the ac on high blower,no less, and no more than this,If the alternator is doing this, you can just unplug the connector to the alternator to see if this stops the problem, this would also cause a back feed, possibley, and cause the turn signal problem.

The blocks dont normally crack as much as the heads do,so i would look at the heads first,But if its done say 200,000 miles plus and not been serviced every 6,000 miles!the chances are that the engine wear will be high, this is all assuming its petrol not Diesel, and you may want to tread carefully as to how much money you spend fixing it.Heads only youd probably do it but an engine....youd want to get a good secondhandie,as to the age of the vehicle
1987 Mitsubishi Pajero 2.5 turbo diesel not starting
Hi, there is a little cable that in on the starter motor, probably you have just disconnect it, it happens to my pajero lot of times. look around the starter motor for a cable that is not going somewhere and then locate the little connector on the top and rear part of the starting motor. if this is not the case then try another battery, pretty sure one of the two is the problem.
