2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Po-133 on '04 trailblazer after replaced MAP , both o2 sensors
Has to do with the timing in the monitoring period, Bosch isn't quite within the specs for our vehicle. Hopefully you used a different brand 02 sensor? Other problems could be low fuel pressure, faulty injectors or an intake leak. Check your intake bolts, our intake is plastic and the bolts DO come loose often. Re-tighten, erase the code and see if that works.
The 2004 Trailblazer will not go into forward gears but will reverse while in 2 WD. It will go into forward gears while in 4 WD. What's wrong?
First I would check the PowerTrain Control Module for any thrown diagnostic troubleshoot codes by using a code reader.
I am unsure if there is a separate transmission computer module for your vehicle. If there is, a code reader will be necessary.
I will assume that the "check engine light" or MIL did not illuminate or the 4wd or 2wd light flash since you did not mention it.
If the car can move forward and backward in 4wd, then it's not the transmission itself since power is transferred through the output shaft of the transmission to the transfer case.
I would think that 4-wheel drive mode is not fully disengaging-
Check the vacuum hoses for damage, crimps, or leaks
Check and test the vacuum actuator
check and test the transfer case switch
check the vacuum actuator cable for damage or defect
check and test the encoder motor actuator on the transfer case
Buy a repair book or shop manual specific to the year, make, and model of the car you are having problems with that offers descriptive troubleshoot and repair procedures with illustrations. You can purchase them as soft or hardcover books or electronic downloads. Here are a few publishers, Chilton, Haynes, Motors, etc. Do an online search or go to your local auto parts store.
Otherwise, if you are not savvy in automotive diagnostic & repair, I would highly recommend flat-bedding the vehicle to a reputable transmission repair shop that has ASE certified transmission technicians. The reason you need to place your vehicle on a flat-bed car carrier - is to avoid serious damage to the transmission.
04 Tundra battery draining overnight
Did you let the vehicle sit for 30 min. before testing ? Modules need to time out (go to sleep - power down etc.. How are you testing ? Have a ammeter inline with battery negative cable and negative battery post . Have any doors open ( door switch closed ) Key out of ignition ? How much current ? 50 milliamps max !
2004 Trailblazer motor good after rollover? Yes/No......?
with an engine upside down and running, the oil pump runs dry
the bearings are running with out oil or lubrication
with the engine shut off
the oil will settle in the pistons and will leak past the rings int the combustion chambers, into the rocker covers and into the air inlets and manifold
the coolant will be contained as the system is pressurized and cannot get anywhere it is not supposed to get to
transmission /diff oil may have leaked out of the breather holes but otherwise will be contained
should you purchase the vehicle , it will be necessary to remove the sump and check the bearings for damage, replace the oil pump. Remove the plugs and turn the engine by hand over to push any oil out of the combustion chambers
with the vehicle sitting right way up any oil will run back to the sump except that which is in the air intake and manifold
Basically it should be in a recoverable state,if the engine was shut down quickly enough
check the crankcase around the engine mounts for cracks as the engine weighs a lot and the throwing around can stress where the mounts are
2004 Trailblazer lower taillights not working upper work fine.
Tony, our TB's only have 3 bulbs, 1 brake, 1 running, 1 backup.
If you happened to be playing with NEW LED bulbs (from local retail location) for the brakes, guaranteed you blew the fuse under the rear seat. It takes a special CK socket for the brakes that no one carry's. If you're only dealing with normal incondecent bulbs, I'd still check the fuse under the rear passenger seat.
2004 chevy trailblazer when I turn on the air con my dash lighs for ABS and Brake come on, my cruise goes off and the air con will not work.
Have you had the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ? I would start there first . Battery , charging system all good ? What computer , the ABS has a control module all to it self . The Air con has a relay in the under hood fuse box controlled by the PCM / engine computer . If there is a problem with ABS , The EBCM - electronic brake control module will turn on ABS and the red brake light .
A low voltage condition could cause this problem , but I would expect more of the lights to be lit on the dash . Including the check engine light , battery light . This are not connected , Power or ground wise . Have the vehicle checked for codes , that should be the first place to start any diagnostic's always !
Dome light fuse..??
The BCM - body control module controls those lights ! There are two fuse's in the rear fuse box that supply B+ voltage to the BCM for interior light's. TBC 3 an TBC 4. Fuse # 4 an #40 both are 10amp fuse's . Fuse Block - Rear
Beneath the left rear seat !
