Removing alternater from 2003 aztec with a 3400 engine

1. Disconnect battery.
2.Remove the bolts from the two dogbone motor mounts located at top of motor front of car.
3.Disconnect the upper radiator supports (this provides a little extra tilting room).
4. Use a ratcheting strap to jack/tilt the engine forward. Attach one end to an anchor point toward the rear of the engine and the other to the frame above the radiator.
5. Ratchet/tilt the motor as far as possible.
6. Remove serpentine belt.
7.Tie a rope or tether of some sort to the alternator.
8. Remove bolts from alternator (if i remember correctly there are 3).
9. Using the rope lower the alternator down behind the motor so you can remove it from under the car.

You will the reverse procedure for installing a new one. Other people will suggest removing the windshield wiper transmission or resevoir. But i prefer to remove as few parts as possible. This same "tilting" method you will use to change your spark plugs/wires. So use high quality plugs /wires at least for the 3 rear ones or you will be repeating this headache soon. Trust me.

I have a 2003 aztek its over heating on shot drives i think its the radiator cap. when i put a piece of rag in it it works fine until the rag gets wet.

I don't think it's the radiator cap. I'd just replace the thermostat and see if that resolves the problem. you can also remove the thermostat just to see if it still runs hot.

if it runs hot with a new thermostat or without one, then have the engine professionally flushed. this is a pressurized flush.

without more information on mileage or vehicle, thats the best place to start on this issue. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/ray_6d6dc1dfa6f18dc1

P0753, p0758 and p91860 what's my problem and how do I fix it?

Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a ASE certified professional . You do not have the tools to diagnose this or the information. DTC P0753 The 1-2 shift solenoid (1-2 SS) valve controls transmission fluid pressure acting on the 1-2 shift valves to position the valves for the appropriate gear. The 1-2 SS valve is a normally-open exhaust valve located on the control valve body. A fused circuit supplies ignition voltage to the 1-2 SS valve. The PCM commands the solenoid ON or OFF by switching the ground path. When the 1-2 SS valve is commanded ON, the PCM senses low voltage. When the 1-2 SS valve is commanded OFF, the PCM senses high voltage. Refer to Shift Solenoid Valve State and Gear Ratio . If the PCM detects a continuous open, short to ground or short to power in the 1-2 SS valve circuit, then DTC P0753 sets. DTC P0753 is a type B DTC. DTC P0753 sets when one of the following conditions occurs for 5 seconds: Condition 1 The PCM commands the solenoid ON and voltage feedback remains high, B+. Condition 2 The PCM commands the solenoid OFF, and the voltage feedback remains low, 0 volts. DTC P0758 The 2-3 shift solenoid (2-3 SS) valve controls transmission fluid pressure acting on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift valves to position the valves for the appropriate gear. The 2-3 SS valve is a normally-open exhaust valve located on the control valve body. A fused circuit supplies ignition voltage to the 2-3 SS valve. The PCM commands the solenoid ON or OFF by switching the ground path. When the 2-3 SS valve is commanded ON, the PCM senses low voltage. When the 2-3 SS valve is commanded OFF, the PCM senses high voltage. Refer to Shift Solenoid Valve State and Gear Ratio . If the PCM detects a continuous open, short to ground or short to power in the 2-3 SS valve circuit, then DTC P0758 sets. DTC P0758 is a type A DTC. Conditions for Setting the DTC DTC P0758 sets when one of the following conditions occurs for 5 seconds: Condition 1 The PCM commands the solenoid ON and the voltage feedback remains high, B+. Condition 2 The PCM commands the solenoid OFF and the voltage feedback remains low, 0 volts. What's this p91860 , no such code .

Where is the safety shut off for a 2003 Pont Aztek

There is no safety shut off switch .First off you say it still won't crank , I'm assuming you mean it won't start an run . If you turn the key to the start position an the engine spins ,that is referred to as the engine cranks . You have a no crank - no start or engine cranks - no start . A fuel pump would have nothing to do with a no - crank -no start problem . If the engine is cranking an not starting check for spark at spark plugs . Is there a security light lit on the instrument cluster ? a anti-theft system problem will cause a crank - no start problem . A short on the five volt reference circuit will cause a crank - no start . A shorted map sensor , shorted TP - throttle position sensor
