Overhead dic doesn't work on my 99 oldsmobile silhouette

Unfortunately I have found this to be an issue in dic electronic it's self, the way to fix that I know of is to replace it. I have the same issue in my 98 transport I have taken it apart and can't find any bad contacts in the unit.

My Olds Silhoute is overheating...

I must say it is a curious problem, we recently got a used 2001 and have just had the same problem. The way it was heating up I felt it was the thermostat so changed that but didnt help. It appears that air pockets are causeing the over heating. On the thermostat houseing is a bleeder vaule which you can use to get the air out. It takes a little time to get all the air out but once I bleed the system out it seems to be fine now. Hope this helps

I've been reading alot of people having trouble with the radiator fans on 99 oldsmobile silhouette not working but have found NO solutions. All the gaskets on the motor have been replaced, the thermos

Most cars temperatures are at around 225 degrees before the high speed fans turn on. And then it only reduces it to around 210. If your car is too hot, first you will hear the lifters pinging and tapping. Then you may hear some rod knock. After that your car will just shut down. Too late then.

99 silhouette with a few issues

Well the dead battery could be something left on that should be off, or a short in the wiring. You would need to check battery voltage while pulling fuses to see if there is a power drain. The other problem could be the key switch or a problem in the fuse box. And the second problem could affect the dead battery problem. You would need to know if the fuses for whats not working has power from the key or not.
