The rheostat is the little dial on the dashboard that alters the brightness of the dash lights. It isn't under the hood. If your turn it all the way down until it clicks, it will turn off the lights. Check the indicator switch, that seems to be all that is left in the system, except the flasher relay, depending on whether the vehicle uses the same one for the hazards or not.

ya, clasic short to earth problem, where however i can not tel, If you not technical and hands off refer the vehicle to auto electrician, Else if you think you are capable physically trace the wire from the hooter pad on the steering wheel to the horn.

partially plugged catalytic converter ,maybe . Have the exhaust back pressure tested .

does your key have a chip some cars do and if it does not recognize will not start suggest you go Mitsubishi and ask help

The better solution is to fix the hatch so it closes tightly. The latch hooks on to an adjustable loop. The hatch closes on to the rubber seal: if this is damaged, fix or replace. There may be some adjustable rubber bump stops as well. Lastly, check that the door ajar sensor is not loose.

take it back and have it checked out and properly adjusted workshop problem as the job was not completed preoprly

Check terminals on acumulator and ignition switch

Follow the plastic intake ducting. It's a small plug with 2 wires coming off it.

if I ever run across a "how to steal a car" section, I'd be happy to post replies that will injure the person trying to bypass anti-theft systems. I have posted half a dozen replies to this affect today alone. If you are in need of bypassing anti-theft systems, the best bet is to take it to a shop....or tow it. I hope you can see through my sarcasm and realize that posting the correct answer would just teach car thieves new tricks.

Check power and ground at the horn, when some one is pushing it. If there, replace the horn. Work your way back.relay,fuse,clock spring.

Did you check the fuse circuit for voltage? Use a test lite or something. The fuse circuit goes hot with key on. Even if the fuse is good, if no voltage on the fuse circuit, the circuit is still dead. The wiring circuit in the steering column and horn switch are the ground circuit for the horn relay.

run the fault codes as there is something that has been missed in the tune up

Call the dealer with the VN#. If you are lucky, they may give it free, but probably will charge.

Make sure you have ALL the wires reconnected. The ECM is a good guess. If you have a Pull a Part salvage yard around you, try to get an ECM. About $40. If not check E-bay. You will not like dealer price.
