Can you show me a diagram of a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse standard clutch pedal ?
the CHILTONS 1990-1993 Mitsubishi eclipse repair manual has extensive electical, vacuum and other such diagrams fo this vehicle about $25 at auto parts store or online. this is probably one of the most extensive resource on this vehicle, well worth the money. in fact in most cases it payes for itself the first time you use it. (in savings on mechanic/repair shop visits. it has trouble shooting and a comprehensive chapter on every system in the car.
1998 mitsubishi eclipse dies when it gets warm
Try this.
This problem
is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and
throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use
carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC
chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is
running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the
speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and
blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the
negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control
Blowing white smoke
how much white smoke? white smoke usually indicates a headgasket
oil should not be black that quick
The carstarts but stalls out soon afterward
check the compression on each cylinder, a cylinder compression test kit can be found on eBay cheaply, next check the condition of your spark plugs & replace if necessary, while doing this it may pay to check the condition of the distributor cap & rotor arm, if these are sooty then just rub the rotor points off with a fine grade sandpaper, if there is a crack in the distributor or burn marks then replace the unit, while doing this it may also pay dividends to change the leads for your own sense of security, Change the fuel filter, & like you mentioned change the coil pack, choose the best you can afford & with the help of a Haynes or similar manual all these jobs can be completed in a couple of hours on your drive & will save you a fortune in garage/mechanics labor costs, hope this helps, please rate my answer, Paul.

According to MitsubishiForum.com the code is about the engine timing being off.Possible causes are the timing belt, cam, or crank sensor issues. The code is "car specific" so each year and model can be different.
CAR WONT START AT TIMES AND I NEED A JUMP OR WAIT 15 MINUTES
I believe the problem is a bad starter solenoid, mounted on your starter. The electrical contacts inside it may be pitted and a little burnt, causing it to sometimes connect and sometimes not. It's a common problem and can be aggravated or caused from your loose battery connections.
You have to pull the starter off and separate the starter motor and the solenoid, if you just want to replace the solenoid. Some resourceful guys say you can sand or emory cloth the contacts, and turn them a bit till a new, clean contact surface is available. If you're in a git-n-go mood, swap in a new or used starter with solenoid attached. An expert is a person who has made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field. -Niels Bohr
