My 97 Mitsubishi eclipse does not start. I change

Hello! I'd be glad to...First off, when you say it won't start do you mean the starter motor will not crank (spin) the engine?...If so, what do you hear when the ignition key is turned; A click or silence?

How much is timing belt and tune up for 97

I,m not sure what the hourly labor rate for your area is as it differs in different locations. What I can tell you is that a timing belt change shows 3.5 hours in the labor guide & a tune up shows 1.3 hours in the labor guide. So depending on your shops hourly rate plus the cost of the parts should give you a round about figure of the cost. I hope this helped and good luck. This was for a 2.0 liter engine (Base model) it does come with a 2.4 also but didn't look that one up.

Hi! my mitsubishi eclipse is

suggest this first,is check engine light on? an auto zone or advance auto can code read it for free only if your check engine light is on. no need to take engine apart! if it's stalling and the check engine light is not on-- you may have clogged fuel injectors, bad fuel, these issues you can deal with easily.recommend lucas fuel injector cleaner. add to fuel in your tank, follow instructions on the bottle.cost? $7.00 per bottle only need one. after 25miles of driving, you should see a difference if it's clogged injectors or a fuel problem. usually when your engine acts up,it's either a spark or fuel problem. narrow your search by eliminating one or other. you have replaced the crankshaft sensor so far. thats a starting issue[spark] does it start and then die? if so,it's getting spark so move to fuel issues.if you need further assistance, please repost your question to fixya.com please be as detailed as possible in your questions! the more the detailed, the more possibility of a great solution to assist you!

Car wont shift into any

Check your shift linkage first. Start from the shifter & work your way to the tranny. If its all in order, then the problem will be internal. If you are able, remove the cover that the shifter goes through & inspect

My 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse wont pass emissions

This is the direct definition of this code
Mitsubishi DTC P1390 - Timing Belt Skipped 1 Tooth or More.
Probable Causes,
-Timing belt improperly installed
-Camshaft position sensor improperly installed
-Camshaft position sensor connector improperly connected
-Crankshaft position sensor connector improperly connected
-Camshaft's relative position not relearned after one of the following have been serviced: Camshaft, Camshaft sprocket, timing belt tension-er, cylinder head, head gasket, crankshaft sprocket, crankshaft cylinder block or the PCM.

Sounds like something to do with the timing belt it self. You can go to any Autozone or Checker and ask for a code reader (they will let you use it for free) and it will show this code again. You can also reset the cars computer with the code reader to see if it comes back with the same code.
