There should be a blend door behind the dash that directs air thru the heater core and evaporator core. Look at Youtube for "lancer blend door" for a video on the repair.

Inside the tank... if not first check under the passenger side towards the rear of the vehicle. Should be just in front of the fuel tank and rear tire, or around the tank. If none of these. Check engine bay firewall passenger side. Not an expert on lancers but these are usual locations.

It's attached to the timing belt cover u have to remove ac and harmonic balance pulley and the motor mount and the alternator it's no small job so if ur not a mechanic .... GET ONE!!!!

The cable is no longer straight, it has a kink in it. The best solution is to replace the cable. If you twist/work the dial gently you can coerce the dial to turn. Unfortunately it will still be a problem next time you need to adjust the temperature.

Check with your dealer about some recall or TSB there, if your VIN is included in this recall Mitsubishi will pay for the repair.
