Read thru this link: http://forums.trailvoy.com/archive/index.php/t-1480.html

There are Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) for this issue. They are not Recalls and won't be fixed for free, unfortunately, but you may be able to follow the direction to 'reset' the transmission/4WD system to fix it.

If the reset doesn't work, you'll likely need a new Transmision Control Moduel (TCM), which are expensive new. Buy used from a wrecking yard/used parts shop With A Warranty...if it doesn't fix it, take it back.

Your description is not very clear--do you mean that the starter does not turn the engine over at times or that the engine turns over but does not "catch"? Or, does nothing happen at all when you turn the key?

In any case, it sounds as though you have a loose or damaged cable or a corroded connection at the battery or a ground.

How do I replace a fuel filter on a 1999 Yukon

Hi, the fuel filter is mounted on the l/h frame rail, on the inside.there are 2 lines, 2 wrenches are required, 16mm, and 21mm.once the lines are loose, slide the filter out of it's holder, and slide the new one in (with the outlet foreward).it is a rather easy procedure, unless the lines, and fittings are rusted. If this is the case, you probably sould leave it alone, and schedule an appt, with a garage, as breaking these lines could leave you stranded. If the lines look like they are in good shape, go ahead, and try. Use your best judgement, Good luck...Coop

I have a 2000 Yukon that appears to a bad lifter

sounds like you have either a stuck valve, or a failed lifter or a bad plug wire, if you have a high amount of miles I would lean towards the lifter or the valve itself you need to get a compression test done both wet and dry, look on your plug wires for any signs of resistance like white dots that is resistance find it's own path
