2000 GMC Yukon - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
2000 Yukon, tow/haul mode will not shut off, light stays on, what to do?
You will need to take it to a parts store like NAPA and see if they will read the tcm (transmission control module) for codes, if all else fails then take it to a transmission shop and ask if they can scan it for codes and check the functionality of the tow haul button if it is not functioning, it could be just a broken wire from flexing at the base of the shifter.

2000 yukon when head lights are on and the heater you turn hi beams and the heater turns to cold and blows in defrost mode and can't change the buttons u have to shut truck off to reset what's wrong
The first place to start with problems like this to try an reset the computers on the vehicle . Disconnect the battery cables an touch them together for five or ten min. Then if that doesn't work you need to have the vehicle checked out , which means having a factory or equivalent scan tool check for codes in the BCM !
The body control module (BCM) is capable of controlling multiple body functions. Components directly connected to the BCM are controlled by the BCM's outputs. The BCM controls the outputs based on input information that it obtains from the sensors and the switches that are directly connected to it. The BCM can also borrow information from other vehicle systems connected to the Class 2 serial data link. The BCM evaluates this information and controls certain body systems by commanding an output ON or OFF.
The BCM is also capable of commanding other vehicle systems to control functions that are not directly wired and/or controlled by the BCM. The BCM accomplishes this task by sending specific messages on the Class 2 serial data link. The vehicle system capable of performing such function will respond to the BCM message.
The BCM controls the following functions:

FUEL GAUGE READS FULL WHEN EMPTY AND EMPTY WHEN FULL
Did this get replaced recently?
Fuel level senders typically work by changing the resistance (and therefore current) depending on the fuel level determined by the position of the float mechanism in the tank. Since the guage you are describing is working exactly opposit to as intended, is it possible that an incorrect sender was installed, or, if there are 2 terminals on the guage, have the wires been switched so that the current is going through the wrong way?

Hi what this warning mins ( trans hot idle engine)
It means that the transmission oil is overheating and you need to cool the oil by allowing the engine to idle for a period of time . The transmission oil cooler is in the radiator and that means that the engine temperature will also be running hot . Check oil level in transmission and adjust to correct level. Check the load being carried /towed as this makes the transmission torque converter work harder and the speed you are travelling at What ever the reason I suggest that you run the fault codes to check for transmission problems

Service 4wd light on
Check for loose damaged or out of adjustment shift linkage. Check for bent or binding and if vehicle has been driven on paved road in 4WD for a long time the driveline torque can make shifting difficult.
