The fix for this is the message center must be removed and then sent out for repair, it uses circuit board mounted LED(s) for lighting of the display. 2002 ford explorer air only blows through dash vents will not switch to floor or defrost vents

This sounds like an actuator. There is usually several (three or four) on different vehicles. There will be at least one that directs the air to different locations such as defrost. You also may have a defective selector switch. I would check this before I changed the actuator or blend door. If the blend door is defective, this usually calls for totally removing the entire dash panel and usually requires several hours work. If you have to have a repair shop do this it can be very expensive.

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport no heat but the fan works, what could the problem be?

Could be that the thermostat has packed up...

Check all your coolant levels are correct and then take her for a good run out....keep your eyes on the temperature gauge,,if your temp gauge hardly moves then your thermostat is at fault....replace it.

If temp gauge works fine, you may be airlocked in your heater matrix... Try setting heater to full heat with fan on full power,, whilst car is ticking over, remove radiator / expansion bottle cap carefully and start squeezing your coolant pipes. This should force any air out through your rad/bottle top..

Please be aware that as your temperature rises in the engine. Your coolant will expand and start to flow out of the rad/expansion bottle..at this stage quickly replace the cap....check your heater...leave engine to cool....unscrew rad/bottle cap, check coolant levels, top up if necessary and squeeze pipes again..start car with heater/fan on full and repeat above.....

Hope this helps..

Do you have in stock front berings for a 2002 Ford Explorer

I've been through several wheel bearings on my 00 Ranger; they are a known issue with these model years. The best source for me has been a Florida-based outfit called Auto Parts Direct To You. http://www.apdty.com Here is a link to the 2002 Ford Explorer wheel bearing selector based on your Explorer's specs. Select 2002 Ford Explorer Engine Note that Ford was inconsistent with the type of assemblies they put into these model year vehicles; I found that out the hard way by ordering online. You might want to give these guys a call and be sure you're getting the right bearing for your vehicle. I've found them to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and the big plus is the lifetime warranty they provide on wheel bearings... a huge bennie for Ford truck owners!

2002 ford explorer xlt overhead lights not turning off. I have replaced the 2 front door ajar switches and everything worked. However, I pulled up and parked and the overhead lights would not go off.

Which overhead lights ? Just the dome lamps . If there is no door ajar light lit on the dash . There could be a problem with the G.E.M - Generic Electronic Module . You should have it check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Need a special scan tool ,a OBD2 code reader won't do it.
  • The courtesy lamps stay on continuously
  • Circuitry.
  • GEM/CTM.
  • Ignition switch.
  • Interior lamp relay.
  • Dimmer module.
  • Door ajar switch.
  • DTC B1322.
  • DTC B1330.
  • DTC B1334.
  • DTC B1338.
  • DTC B1371.
  • DTC B1574.
  • DTC B1610.
  • GO to Pinpoint Test D .
You best bet mite be to have a Qualified repair shop diagnose this .
