Car quit running and won't start back up. Motor won't roll over, dummy lights won't come on, but the headlights will come on when you flip the switch for them. What could it be??? Starter??? Ignition Switch??? Any suggestions???
There is a computer chip on your ignition key that reads as you start it. Push the button on your ignition switch and it will come apart and you will find two little wires with a conector without them conected your secerity light will flash and will not start I lost my chip and hope someone can tell me how I can bypass it.

hello this camaro has me kinda baffled and if you can offer some insight maybe someone knows of a common problem like this on these 3.4s. ok what is does it at idle it has a small constant pop and runs verry rich then when you slowly raise the rpm's the poping grows larger and if you hit the throttle fast its verry violent pops through the intake andbackfires through the exhaust. we have replaced the wires and plugs and checked the firing order 123456 1 being on the passenger front. and also done a small cleaning of the throttle body and sprayed carb cleaner around the intake manifold and nothing changes. It does not blow out the oil fill either as it pops and backfires either. and when we put a vacume gauge on, it read at idle about 14 but when it pops it falls to about 11, so its just constantly going back and forth making it not constant at all, then as you accelerate the high is about 15 and drops to 10 but if you hold it at a high rpm for example about 3000 or so its a constant 16 and no pops or back fires at all. it only does this problem at idle and upon acceleration. any help would be appreciated into this strange problem. thanks agian
Justin
I had the same problem, thinking it was bad gas, or bad wires, or even a clogged fuel filter, had the engine checked out by a reputable gear head. A head bolt broke, then a intake lobe from cylinder #4 spun round thus causing your car to constantly backfire, also check to see if your head gaskets aren't blown (water-n-oil), all these were found once the engine was disassembled. Good luck trying to find a good used 3.4

How do you jump a low pressure sensor for the ac system.
If you look on the low pressure side of the AC system you will see a plug that is incorporated in to the line. It will have two wires leading to it. Remove the plastic clip that attaches the two wires to the sensor and use a short piece of wire to connect the two terminals in side the plug by putting the ends into the cap. This will bypass the low pressure sensor and allow the AC clutch to engage and begin to cycle again. Remember this low pressure switch is there for a reason. If you don't add more r-134 to the system and allow the AC compressor to cycle you will destroy the compressor. You need to charge the system when you bypass the low pressure switch and get the system up to full charge status and reconnect the switch.

my 1994 camaro w/ 3.4L engine has an oil leak in rear of engine. It is running down both sides of the block in rear. Oil filter is wet, but not leaking, the starter and bell housing drip oil and its getting on the exhaust. It doesn't look to be coming from valve covers, but it's hard to see. Oil sensor leaked, but has already been replaced. Could it be a gasket in the rear of intake? Is this common problem? 194,000 miles Semms to drip 1 drop every 5 seconds when running, and leaves 5 spots the size of half dollar after turning off.
This is most likely a leak from your rear main seal. It happens and can be a pain to replace if you're a DYI kinda person without the nec. equipment.
6. Inspect the crankshaft for nicks or burrs, correct as required.

1995 chevy camaro 3.4 v6 starts sometimes ok and others doesnt start at all, replaced map, icv, egr, coil pack, tps, spark plugs, charged battery, throttle body cleaned, pcv valve checked ok,no water in oil,no oil in water, what else could it be? please help =-[
Hi.
To start you should check if any error code is stored in the car computer (ECM).
Even if this car has a 16 Pin OBDII connectors, the codes should still be OBDI. Late 1995 Chevys are using OBDII.
Most code reader in commerce read OBDII codes only (introduced in 1995). Since a compatible code reader may be expensive and difficult to find, better having the code reading at a local dealer. The operation is done for a small fee.
If there are no codes, then follow the hints below. I will try to list the most common reasons for car not starting at random.
1 - AIT Sensor: The IAT sensor is used to determine air temperature. When the IAT sensor is faulty the car will have troubles starting with cold, and sometimes hot engine. The Intake Air Temperature sensor is located in the air hose going from the air filter to the throttle body assembly. Here a diagram:
2 - Fuel tank cap: The fuel tank cap must allow air out of the tank. If the fuel tank cap does not allow ventilation you experience starting problem.
Testing is done starting the car with fuel tank open.
3-Vacuum leaks: The vacuum system contributes to exhaust gas recirculation. A vacuum leak may give troubles particularly when idling, when starting , or when the engine is cold. This are the situations where recirculated gas make a bigger difference.
Vacuum leaks are detected using an hand tool gauge in the middle of vacuum lines, and heating the vacuum hoses with a blow torch at the same time.
4-Blockage in fuel lines and fuel pump problems: this will also affect driving, but better testing it. a small blockage may only give troubles when the engine is cold. The fuel pressure is tested using the same gauge that measures pressure on the vacuum system.
Here the tool to read vacuum and fuel pressure:Vacuum/Pressure Gauge and Fuel Pump Tester Mityvac 5511.

step by step to replace water pump on a 1995 chevrolet camro.
Water Pump - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
CAUTION
When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are
attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink
any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground.
This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant
into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is
contaminated or several years old.

Where is the crank position sensor on my 1995 chevy camaro 3.4L
You didn't state which one you were looking for, so here's location of both. The 3X (low resolution) crank sensor is on right side of cylinder block forward of starter solenoid----The 24X (high resolution) crank sensor is at crankshaft pulley.
