Reset code P0442

Trouble Code P0442 - Evap system, small leak. Many times it is because the gas cap was not put back on properly or the rubber gasket (flat ring) no longer is sealing properly. Inspect the cap, replace the gasket if necessary, install correctly, and drive it for several on/off cycles.

98 bmw m3 convertible , where is located the

Do not know of a "Window Relay" for a 2-door M3 convertible. But there is a "Window motor to regulator" in the door itself. However, there are two 30 amp fuses (#14 and #19) located in the plastic front power distribution box located in the left-hand rear corner (nearest the driver) of the engine compartment that I would check to see if this is your problem before digging down into door interior disassembly. The numbers are marked look under box cover.

Airbag light is on the dash board is on and i need

You need to reset it: Two choices dealer or with an airbag reset toll (e.g. Peake Research R5/SRS approximately $130). If it keeps coming back on, a common fault is one of the front seat belt buckle connections. Here is the internet address. http://www.peakeresearch.com/

Enter radio code BMW 1998 M3

Use the CD selection numbers. The numbers should range only from 1 to 6. Once you enter all 5, it should accept it unless the code is wrong.

I have a 1998 M3

If you did not get a card with the owner's manual, you will have to pull the radio part way out and read the serial number. Then go to the dealer and have a service writer punch the serial into his computer and he can tell you the code. If the dealer wants $$ to do this, go to another dealer.
The radio is held in by two 5-sided cup head screws. You might be able to jamb some other tool in there and loosen them if they are not too tight. If the radio has never been removed, they are tight and you will need to buy the proper tool on line. I got mine from a fellow who makes them at home, [email protected], but the specialty tool places sell them as well.

Pump works (makes noise),no fluid

"Blue juice" running on the ground ? You may have a broken hose between the pump/reservoir and the jets on the hood. Also, there is an inline check valve. Follow the hose and you will find it. Sometimes these get clogged. Also, the jets on the hood can get clogged. This can usually be cleaned out with a small pin. (I keep a sewing needle in my toolbox for this.)

Runs fine for a wile then dies battery drained

Hi
A car battery can run down for any of several reasons:
  • You accidentally left the lights on or some other accessory that pulls power from the battery even when the ignition key is off.
  • The battery is not being recharged while the vehicle is being driven (you have a charging problem)
  • There is a key off parasitic electrical drain on the battery because a relay is sticking, a module is not shutting down, or there is a shorted diode in the alternator.
  • Your battery is old and will not hold a charge anymore. The battery needs to be replaced.
Most of the time if the battery is fairly new and keeps getting drained have the mechanic check the alternator if its charing the battery.
Thanks for using Fixya.

The rear wheels on my

Not sure what car you have because the title says M3 but the question says 528. Either way, this is actually somewhat normal for this car, but the positive camber gets more pronounced as the rubber suspension bushings get older and more stretched out of shape. Positive camber makes the car corner more solidly, but it does prematurely wear out the inside edge of the rear tires.
You can improve it by replacing the bushings. You can correct it completely by putting on adjustable control arms. Any performance BMW parts website will sell you the adjustable control arms.
Using tires with softer sidewalls will help a little with the uneven wear. A good choice for a 528, but you would not want to use low performance tires on an M3.
I have a matched pair of '97 328s. One has this problem and the other does not. After pricing new bushings and adjustable control arms, I went with the softer sidewall tire option.

Wont start

is the your car engine cranking when you try to start, first check spark plugs ignition coils, remove one ignition coil and spark plug fix the spark plug in to the ignition coil then connect ignition coil to wiring and keep spark plug body touching on ground of engine head mettle parts, ask some one to crank engine then you can see is the plug sparking or not, do the same way to all the coils and plug otherwise you have to buy a ignition spark tester, is the all the coils and spark plugs are OK then check the fuel pump, it's sitting in under rear seat, before that do one thing disconnect oxygen (O2) sensor wiring and crank engine, the thing is if your oxygen sensor completely dead fuel pump will stop working, if engine start after disconnect O2 sensor, replace new O2 sensor, otherwise need to check fuel pump relay fuse and fuel pump. is this information helped you? please vote me and give a comment.
