It's possible that you have a bad head gasket. Have your cooling system pressure tested, see if it holds roughly 18lbs of pressure. Could also be air in system, did you bleed system when waterpump and thermostat were installed?

I have jus brought a golf 1.4 petrol it was fine full serivce history good condition just i found out when i rev my car n let go it drops very fast like it will die out n kiks in again do yu know what is wrong with my car

Assuming you have power steering, check fluid level in power steering system.
Check that the power steering pump belt has not fallen off.
Tires that are nearly bald can make the steering effort higher.
Do you have wheels that are not made for this car that have the wrong offset?
Check the strut bearings to see if they are frozen. Look under the front fenders while someone else turns the steering wheel. The strut and spring should turn with the wheel. If the top of the spring does not turn, then the strut bearings need to be replaced.

There can be so many issues and unless a code check is confirmed with more inputs from your end including the battery condition, if the engine is cranking or also if the scheduled services were in order.

hi had the same problem with my 323i (1998) THERE is a sensor in the fan box ((right hand drive) on youre left, passanger side the oppiside side off youre int pollen filter ,screw it lose it is a big aluminuim thing with lots of pins diffrent sizes.replace it that thing control your fan speed & tempreture,

PETROL LIGHT ON MEAN EITHER FUEL GETTING LOW OR FUEL LINES COULD BE STOPPED UP.
