How to readjust a wiper arm
There is no adjustment on this you likely have a worn wiper arm transmission and the extra play causes the arm to travel to far.
2000 oldsmobile silhouette, just
Yes, there are 3 cooling fan relays. A signal is sent to the PCM from the temp sensor to kick them on. Probably a bad temerature sensor causing the fan not to kick on, but you can swap relays to see if it does first.
2003 Olds Silhoutte Air Shocks and Compressor - not working
The load leveling shock will not work if there is an issue with the compressor. If you buy the sir shock's, your going to have to address the compressor issue to even have the air shocks level the Silhouette. Once you have the compressor issue addressed, the shocks it's self is simple enough to replace that you can do it with common tools to save you some money. My wife has a Montana and we had the same problem, since we do not tow and really never hold that much weight. We replaced the rear shocks with Monroe Reflex Shocks, Found the van to be much more sturdy then the air shocks ever were and the good thing about them is there were lift time replacement at Parts Source. Regardless on which shocks your going to use, it's a good rule to replace both sides at the same time. The only difference in to reinstalling the air shocks is you need to reattach the air lines to the shocks and that's simple as removing the shocks it self. The shocks are only held on by two bolts, one on top and one on bottom and should only take about 20 min each side to do since you have to jack the car up and remove the wheel for room, but you can remove the shocks it self without removing the wheel, it's your preference. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to answer any questions you may have.
Rear wheels, do they use shims?
I believe moog or someone makes a shim that goes between the axle housing and the wheel bearing to adjust the alignment. However,if the rear camber is out(the wheels tip in at the top) The coil spring will also cause this,if the back end is lower than the front ,bet on the springs.Easy way to tell,,just jack the vehicle up by the rear bumper in the center of the back.only a few inches ,if the wheels "stand " back up the coil springs are at fault. The Firestone guys are correct I think but that is only a "band-aid"on the real problem.
My air shocks dont work on sil 2000
By not moving I assume you mean lifting and leveling? The good part is all the mechanisms required to make the pump run are working. The part you are having problems with is containing the air. There should be a Master "dump" valve to allow the air to escape. Sometimes these solenoids freeze. There are also solenoids for each end or wheel to level the car. You have, of course air lines and suspension bags.If any of these leak, the compressor can not keep up and will run continuously. You have several options. Depends on whether you can fix it yourself. Using a water spray bottle with soapy water, you can wet each air line and suspension bag while the compressor runs. The soapy water will bubble at the leak.Or you can have a special scanner plugged into the diagnostic port for the suspension. It can "read" the sensors and indicate what is wrong. Not all places have this type of machine. The Dealer, any GM brand Dealer, can attach this equipment and evaluate the system. Some repair shops, body shops, may have bought these special scanners. You would have to call around to avoid going to a Dealer.Since the system is leaking, you will not have to deal with all the pressure that operates these systems. But they can be dangerous and they do support the weight of the car possibly sliding off jacks if the system drops.I hope my solution is helpful. You may find the parts aftermarket.
