I have a 05' nissan altima , when starting the car i hear a beep that last 15-20 seconds then when turning it off it occurs again .. any ideas on what this could be ?

Is it a series of three beeps?then the car thinks the key is in the ignition and you need a cylinder. If it is a long steady beep it is because the headlights are on and it is alerting you. The body control module will time out the lights and the beep stops. The transponder key did not come out til 2007. So the beep is not be ause the fob is in tthe car. That is NOT your key system in a 2005. 10 years at nissan.

Service engine soon 2006 nisson

This light indicates a fault. Recommend you have the car scanned. A scanner can reset the light, but first get the trouble codes to see what might be wrong with the car.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5932051-check_engine_light_check and let me know if you have questions.

2005 Nissan Altima jerks while driving, stops jerking when in neutral.

That usually happens if you're in too high a gear. If it also seems to accelerate slowly, you may have a fouled plug or other cause of a dead cylinder.

Shifter stuck in park

Possible not getting brake switch signal, but most likely to be a failing shift interlock solenoid.

Can I tow a 05 nissan altima behind rv 4 down

legally probably not as the towing vehicle is lighter than the vehicle being towed and there are no brakes for the towed vehicle. even if it is on a trailer the weight gets worse as you have to consider the trailer as well to add to all that the legal tow capacity of the rv4 will be less than the total mass being towed

Altima 2005 3.5, right front passenger rattle that you also can hear towards the middle of car? Also you can push right tire and it moves back and forth? The lug nutts are ok? Suggestions?

I would say either ball joint or wheel bearing. You need to jack the car up and safely support it on a jack stand. Then move the wheel and look for where the movement is coming from. If there is very much movement at all, I would not think it would be safe to drive.

2005 Altima that wont crank or make a sound, new battery. The battery connection was corroided, changed the connector and still no fire to the car.Fly wheel not moving all the around,no problems prior.

One portion of the ignition switch should send voltage to the starter solenoid, sometimes attached to the starter motor, on older cars, on the firewall. You can follow a lone cable from the battery (+) plus side to the starter solenoid/starter. It could be corroded where it connects to the solenoid. So basically, the battery sends voltage to the dash, the ignition sends voltage to the solenoid in the start position, which activates the solenoid so it can send the high current from the battery to the starter. The solenoid has large contacts so it can carry the heavy current; that's why it's there before the actual starting voltage to the starter. (Do the dash lights, etc light when the ignition is turned on? Does the horn blow? If not, all this is moot.)

I cleaned the throttlebody, now the idle surges

Your throttle gate is probably stuck open, allowing too much air to come in. When you put the throttle back together make sure the gate is closed. Hope this helps

How to install the thermostat on 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5?

This is a pretty easy repair. Your vehicle has 2 thermostats. One on the driver side of motor just below the intake manifold and the other in the center of motor just below the intake. I would flush the coolant system aswell.
Here is a link on how to do it. I have recently done one and these steps are right on.

2005 Altima won't start, hear clicking sound coming from fuse box,key stuck in ingintion, won;t turn over, tried to jump start.

the clicking that you hear is coming from the starter relay. sounds like your ignition starter switch or ignition lock cylinder is bad.

I own a 2005 nissan altima. Is there any way to remove the kill switch. It is causing my car not to start

Sorry, there isn't. It needs to be scanned for codes. This will point you in a direction to look at. Could be the key, receiver, wiring, BCM, and PCM.

I have a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 S 4 cylinder - went to get gas (just a bit, did not fill up) on Christmas and soon afterward the 'service engine soon' light came on. Called the Nissan dealer

When last did you service the vehicle ?did they use the proper fuel ? Chances are the service time is near where you will need to do a basic service, Plug , plug wires, filters etc. And reset the counter.the fuel ting is just a coincidence.

I have 05 Nissan altim. Sometimes when I start it it makes a loud ticking noise that sounds like it's coming from behind the glovebox & when it does this it takes off slow. Sometimes it will stop aft

Not likely, sounds to me like a bad Fuel Pump relay, that when operating correctly controls the fuel pump. Based on what the ECU tells it the amount of fuel it needs.
