I have a 1992 nissan pathfinder 4x4 se automatic and it does not want to downshift when i am accelerating and starts out in 2nd or 3rd gear from a dead stop

Is the hold/normal/power button on the dash is in the hold position that is what it will seem like because that is what it does, holds in second gear for ice and snow starts. So make sure the button is in the normal (middle) or Power position (right side pressed in).

I HAVE A 1992 NISSAN

If he installed a new or remanufatured starter, I would suspect a weak battery possibly. If he installed a used starter, I would say the starter is bad. A hot engine is harder to crank than a cold engine and if the starter is marginal it will act the way you described. Try boosting your vehicle the next time it's hot, or get your battery load tested by a reputable shop that doesn't sell batteries. I have had experience with remanufactured starters that were no better than the unit I removed from the vehicle. Have him get a second reman and see if that doesn't solve the problem.

Car won't get into gear

Be more specific on the symptoms. Just replacing ATF shouldn't jam the gearbox. Why did you replace the ATF, does the shift lever move or not, etc.

How do I adjust transmission bands on 1992 Nissan pathfinder

suggest that you get a copy of a workshop manual and access to some small reading torque wrenches ( inch pounds). Talk with an accredited auto specialist shop as it may be cheaper to have them do it for you.

Accidentally got coolant in my transmission. Now 1992 Nissan Pathfinder will not go. Car runs ,but will go a few feet then will not go.

Unfortunately, that isn't enough. There is no way to get the water out of the transmission once it is in there short of disassembly. Water does not compress and therefore will not work where hydraulic pressures are needed. You didn't say HOW you accidentally got the coolant into the transmission. That may be of SOME help, but chances are you are in for a major transmission repair (or replacement) bill.
