I need to know where to find turn signal flasher on a 2001 gmc sierra.
I looked in panel left of dash and do not find any thing marked flasher?
The flasher on this vehicle looks nothing like the flasher's of yesteryear. It will be located behind the drivers side knee bolster(under the steering wheel). It will be a small black box that is about 3 inches wide, 2 inches deep, and 1 inch thick. It may be somewhat difficult to locate because on some of the GM trucks they actually hide it behind the guage cluster bezel but to the left of the guages. Let me know if I can help you any further.

Repalaced air pump and both check valves. Pump not getting power. Found fuse behind battery blown. Replaced fuse an it blew again. I checked wire from fuse to air pump and it was OK. The pump is new and also checked OK. I need electrical schematic for other wires on this same fuse (circuit). This schematic is not in the Haynes book I'm using. Can you help?
The 30A pump fuse and the 10 solenoid fuse are dedicated. The only other fuse in the circuit is 175A @ the battery. Look under the A.I.R. fuse block for melting around the relay

I am replacing the heater core and can not find how to access the last screw holding the heating/venting unit to the fire wall. I have removed the one left of the coolant lines and the screw located under the blower moter resistor. The last is on the bottom right of the unit, but I can not find it on the motor side of the firewall. Can anyone explain the way to access this.

I just recently bought a 2001 GMC Jimmy that needs a couple of minor things done in order to get an inspection sticker. One of which is adjusting my parking break. It seems simple enough, but is this an easy fix for someone like myself, who is not that good with car mechanics? Thanks everyone!
Hi... to adjust rear brakes providing the shoes are good... just drive vehicle in reverse and pump brakes... rear shoes are self adjusting so they should "adjust" themselves... after doing this test by putting on park brake, put vehicle in drive and see if vehicle moves forward, repeat procedure if necessary. Hope this helps... please rate suggestion.... ty

My Jimmy started idling rough last week. Two codes popped up on the PCM...P0171 and P0300. P0171 only showed once, P0300 stays on PCM constantly. Everything I've done hasn't worked. 130,000 miles. List below of things I've done to fix this problem, but hasn't helped.
Replaced plugs and plug wires
Replaced fuel filter
Checked all my vacuum lines for leaks, didn't find any
Cleaned my MAF Sensor
I've still got rough idling, also I notice rotten egg smelling exhaust when it is idling like this. Please Help!
HI
P0300 is multiple misfires.
P0171 is lean burn on left bank 1 means drivers side
02 sensor is faulty. Your vehicle is over fuelling that is why your are getting P0300 code and the rotten egg smell. Good idea is to replace both 02 sensors.

replaced brake line, rotors and pads bled brakes all around and the brakes when the truck is off work but once i start the truck the brake pedal goes to the floor and have no brakes at all?????????????????????
Bench Bleed the M/C first, then do not let it run dry during system bleeding. Parts stores sell a kit that helps installed m/c bleeding.

2001 GMC Jimmy break lights not working but all other tail lights work including third break light. Turn signals work fine. Checked fuses - fine, checked bulbs - fine. What is the problem with the break lights?
Check the brake light switch should be a orange wire with 12v then a white wire with 12v when the pedal is pressed. If htat cks good then ck the hazard switch by moving it up and down and wiggeling the knob with the brake pedal pressed if they start working then your multifunction switch is bad and needs to be replaced.
