It is much more likely you are low on coolant or you have an air bubble trapped in the cooling system. You should bleed the cooling system to get any trapped air out and make sure it is full of coolant.

check fuel pump pressure sometimes the fuel pump will not hold the pressure and leaks down

Make sure the timing marks on the timing belt pulleys are properly aligned. If the overhead cam is even the slightest bit off you will not be able to get it to start.

I take it the water level in the expansion tank is ok. You could have a blocked core in the heater. Also the heater could be leaking. You could try flushing the cooling system and checking for leaks and blockages.
