2001 Dodge Grand Caravan -both

Took me 3 tries to get it right. Ordered a motor off EBay but it was just as wore out as the one I took off. Left it unhooked for a year or so. However, fixed mine for sure tonight. I had to order 2 brushes from this place.http://store.eurtonelectric.com/brushwithwireshunt.aspx.16" x .18" x .39" BRUSH 2221714DThey were about 1/8" too long and when you look at the original there is a small groove in the brush to hold the spring. Easy to file them with a metal file to the right length and put the groove in. You don't need to lubricate anything.....quite easy to change actually. You do need to take out 2 small brass screws that hold the motor to the mechanism. The window was still sticking and I was about to say enough, until I took a piece of sandpaper and cleaned off the armature. Then cleaned that with isopropyl alcohol and a small brush.Works good as new.Now if I could have fixed the wiper in the back too. But had that one taken apart twice and had lots of luck ..... all of it bad. :-)Been a great van still runs perfect with 235000Kms on it, however it is sure rusty.

Thatwhen it rains hard my battery lt comes on and i start losing my power steering, the alt. is new

Depending on the alternator installed, there is a 'de-coupler' as part of the pulley. If it's not new or hasn't been replaced with the alternator, that may be part of your problem. Additionally, if it is new with the alternator, I've seen many of these bad out of the box. We haven't had to replace too many alternators on these vans, most of the failures are due to the de-coupler and the dealer part is the best way to go.

P1782 po700 codes what are they?

2000 caravan with codes p1782 and po700,this is transmission codes, i will tell you this, with out a good scan tool to check the problem correctly you will be just throwing money at it.this may be due to a bad shift solenoid pack or wiring or internal transmission problems. sorry to say but these transmission are junk.I would have a transmission shop or dealer check it, maybe the dealer unless you know a good transmission shop that will not try to sell you a rebuilt ******.

Check engine Code 403 for 2000 Caravan

Did you reset the system and the light still comes on? If so you have a possible wiring problem or a plugged EGR passage maybe. You need a scanner to check these things so if you don't have that you are stuck here and need the dealer or a good shop with correct kit to look into this.

Engine has lost compression

check the coolant level, it may be overheating. if it will start again, start it, and while running, watch the temperature guage. overheating would deffinately make an engine cut off after running for a short period of time. if the temp climbs near the red zone of the guage, dont let it get there, cut it off, and check the cooling system.another cause could be the fuel delivery. fuel pressure varies at different temperatures, so if it will start when its cold then dies at normal operating temp, it could just not be getting enough gas after it is warm as the pressure has changed. if it isnt the temperature, try running some fuel injector cleaner through it (cheap additive to gas found at almost any gas station) but dont get your hopes up :p cuz its usually not the cheap stuff that fixes cars unfortunately.

The van dies when slowing down or stopping, but not all the time.

check for vacuum leaks either the lines or possibly the intake gaskets.
