Check the brake booster vacuum hose for a leak. This could cause the hard brake pedal and the idling issues both.

I had to replace the brushes on my 2000 Caravan alternator so I had to remove the serpentine belt. I was able to remove the belt by prying the idler pulley inwards to take of the pressure and slip it off so I think you should be able to do the same thing.

There are several possibilities...do you have the light switch turned all the over for the interior lights? Is the switch at the liftgate broken so that the plunger does not go in to turn it off? There might be a short to ground at the switch if the hot is run to the light and the switch does the grounding?

Alternator may be faulty and not charging the battery or you may have a voltage leak to ground which is discharging the battery like a clock or radio light or some other faulty electrical component leaking power. The alternator is the easiest to check. Does the battery go flat as you drive it? If not its probably not the alternator. You could check it with a current meter when the engine is running. You could do the same with the battery when the engine is off to see what the current drain is. This might give you an angle on the thing which is draining the battery.

sound like fuel pump failing or clogged fuel filter.

have you had the battery condition checked , try a jump start , if it starts ok then may need a new battery, also get the OBD codes read as will point to any sensors/switchs causing problems

did you look under the lid of the fuse panel? there is a decal showing what goes where

Sounds like an electrical problem. The caravan has multiple safety cutouts that prevent the engine from starting. The ignition switch and the neutral selector switch are the two most likely to cause the starter not to turn. The function of these as well as the starter solenoid relay and the battery connections and such can be checked with a voltmeter. Grab a manual at your favorite local auto parts store and begin troubleshooting before you go and buy more parts you may not need.

I would test your fuses but if that is not your problem your dash light dimmer switch may have gone bad. or is turned down all the way if this was helpful please leave good feed back

If the ignition hasn't been changed before. You can go to a dealer with the VIN# and have a key made. This doesn't guaranty anything as the tumblers wear down, like the key does. Next step would be a locksmith.

easy remove vacuum to booster and plug it now go and step on brakes and hold them down hard .if it fades away its the master cylinder .you can do the same test with car off and not touching the booster , if pedal falls its the master cylinder

First thing to do is have the oil level checked ASAP.
