Dies when you let off the gas to slow down....
I had this same problem on my 1997 intrepid. Turned out to be a dirty idle air control motor and needed throttle body cleaning. IAC motor is located as part of the air intake. Remove the two bolts holding it one and spray it down good with throttle body cleaner, let it dry and reinstall.
Replace fuel filter in 1999 dodge intrepid
The Fuel filter is part of the fuel pump module and is designed to be changed when the fuel pump dies. You can replace the filter separately but you will have to drop the fuel tank.
Can i replace a 1999 2.7 l with a 2004 2.7l engine
I would try to find a 3.2. Problems with the 2.7 make the 3.2 swap a better choice. i did a 99 Concorde this wayand was very pleased with the results. The 3.2 will bolt right in with a minimum of effort.
No brake lights on my dodge intripid. Changed
Are you able to move your shifter out of Park? If so, it's probably your brake relay in the fuse panel or under the hood in the panel on the driver's side above the left front wheel or, possible the brake switch located on the brake pedal under the dash close to the firewall. Good luck.
I have a 2000 Intrepid,
if there is definitely no fuel leak then it may be the emission system evap system, venting to the atmosphere and not being held within the evap emission system.this could be a vacuum control valve not working properly or a hose cracked or has come of its mounting, the computer system should be checked for a possible code, and repaired depending where the code leads to,the gas cap can also be not securely fastened or the gas cap seal in poor condition allowing gas vapors to vent.you could have a small fuel leak under the hood seaping past a seal.
2004 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 engine, and oil light keeps coming on.
Major issues with the 2.7L motor. design flaw causes oil to hang in the heads and "cook" creating sludge. Sludge builds until the passage to the timing chain is blocked starving the chain and causing near instant failure...this is a "rattling" or Roulette wheel sound. The 2.7L is an "interference" type engine. When the chain breaks or jumps, the cams stop in position thus leaving the valves wherever they may land. The pistons keep on moving though....and kiss whatever valves happen to be open. Bye Bye Motor. Using Synthetic oil EARLY and exclusively cures the sludge issue. Replacing the timing chain and components at interval is crucial...don't wait for it to break or jump!
