I have a 97 Grand Caravan with the original Infinity system.

The black wire is ground, either terminal is fine. They like to hide the amps behind the passenger side kick panel, and beside the glove box.

the shutdown relay does that. Check cooling system and oil pressure sensor. engine gets too hot or not lubricated enough that the ECM tells the shutdown relay to shutdown the engine.

Knocking noise coming from the back of the van when driving

what seals ? do you mean wheel bearing seals ? if so this is a problem that will eventually result in bearing failure and could make wheels come off if let go to failure point ,(takes a long time) the way you wrote this reminded me of a fellow that just got a brand new van and brought it to me in a fluster one day saying it makes horrible banging noises only when he drives it <not sitting still, I pulled it into service bay and put up on rack , when I took hubcaps off to access the wheels I nearly laughed to death !!! seems his Not so funny neighbor had added a handful of gravel to the inside of his hubcaps for a bit of fun with him !!!

If it clicks it could be a bad solenoid in the starter Also check for dirty or loose battery cables on both ends . they will do that as well. You could try and tap the starter lightly with a hammer. while turning the key because it could be stuck but that's not likely. but has happened before.
