The problem is the fuel pump resistor. The connector is located behind the passenger headlight. It is a white plastic plug about 2-3 inches long. Unplug the connector and jump it out. The car will start and run until you can replace the resistor.

If you are getting heat inside the car, the defroster should also work. There is a control switch problem that doesn't switch to defrost from heat, or the compressor for the air conditioner is not functioning...it provides heat for defrosting as very dry air to the heater box.
