My oil indicator symbol is

Hi dennis,

It sounds like you have a malfunctioning oil level sensor. Even with the oil level correct, if the oil warning indicator comes on after starting, the sensor is reading incorrectly. I would recommend replacing the sensor with your next oil service. As far as the sluggishness, the sensor operation will not affect that. I suspect that is a different issue.

Dsc warning light on , bmw e46

Dynamic Stability Control....a derivitave of ABS / Traction control. The control unit that monitors the dynamics will most likely be sensing a difference in the measured wheel speeds. Possibly defective ABS sensor, wiring, ABS exciter ring, ABS module or steering angle sensor. Can also be triggered by wheel spin.
Have a diagnostic scan done ( cost £30 - £50 approx at good local garage) to read the fault codes first. If you get a fault code relating to "ABS module pressure sensor" the module requires replacement (common issue). Used to be a £1400 job, but repair kit now available from dealer for £180 ish and 2 hours to fit.

BMW X 3 Panoramic sun roof initialization.

hello X3 driver, you can initialize the sunroof by pushing straight up on the button, (the same position that is use for vent). You will need to hold the button for atleast 30 seconds. The cassette should go to vent position, then to close, then to fully open, then back to close. Once the fully closed position has been reached, release the button. that's all there is too it. Glad to see BMW is taking care of it's customers.

Hazard lights came on and

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. For the time being, you can pull out the fuse for the lights. I am not sure what all is running on that fuse. It may be your main lights or something else. Your hazard light switch appears to be stuck. It may need adjusted or the switch may be bad.

Sliding cover on sunroof has come off the track.

If you park in the sun, the plastic guides on the glass and the interior cover have crumbled by now. Not one of BMW's best designs. Probably designed by the same guy who designed the window regulators in this series. They stink as well.
The procedure for removing the sunroof and replacing the guides is a do-it-yourself job, but is way too complicated to describe here with no pictures. If you search the internet for "e46 sunroof repair" you will find instructions.
Once you practice on yours, you can come over to my house because I have one that has failed and another that probably will soon. Fortunately, neither my wife nor I ever open our sunroofs.

Installin a panasonic radio mvh

There is no direct wire connection, you are going to need an interface device. I would suggest using an AXXESS AWSC. Here is the link to the instructions for it... here

I have a BMW 320D

Crankcase breather/filter. Good clean condition? Too much internal engine
pressure can cause turbo seals to leak. Oil doesn't drain off freely
and there is extra pressure against the seals.

The outside temperature is shown as +50C usually.

The istrument cluster calculates the temp reading from the sensor.so there are three possible causes, the cluster, the wires to the sensor or the sensor itself.A sensor is the cheapest and easyest thing to try is the sensor.it is located in a plastic cover under the front bumper,it just snaps into place and has a two wire's at the plug.

Code PO174, on a 2004

Check your intake boot for cracks (located after the MAF and before the DISA). You may as well Clean your DISA and ICV while you're at it. There's a video on youtube from Xionunjust to show access to the DISA, watch it and he'll show where the intake boot is. Good luck.

Check engine light is on service codes p2231

Hi,

The code you reported does not seem to have relevance for BMW. Often generic OBDII codes do not have meaning and in this case the fault code does not correlate with any reference tables that I am using at this time. If you can have the car scanned with the BMW proprietary software and revert with those codes, it might shed light on this issue.

Let me know.so that we could proceed.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

What kind of coolant do I use in my 2004 bmw 325?

It should tell you right on the reservoir cap whether you need dexcool, G12 (which is specific for many German cars), or if the standard green coolant is OK. Use of the wrong type can cause problems - take a look at the fill cap and see if it instructs you there (it usually will).
