How do you replace the
Open the hood, on the right hand side you should see an oval hole (about 6 inches back from the front of the car). Take your flashlight and look in the hole, you should see a vertical piece of metal (ignore it) and behind that (relative tp the front of the car) you should see a flat tab. Take a long flatblade screwdriver and push down on the flat tab. Once you push down you can pull on the turn signal out and replace the bulb. The tab holds the turn signal in place.

My engine is smoking and smells like burnt oil?
Perhaps oil has leaked onto the exhaust manifold.
Check the oil pressure also.
Oil LeakOil leak, probably valve cover gaskets need replacing or just tightening. Also if it started suddenly after an oil change, the filter may be leaking, or you spilled oil on the manifold.
This MY & others had problems with both the cranshaft oil seal. The rear one leaks onto the exhaust and can make a horrible burning oil smell, notably when you stop after a long drive.
Head Gasket
Outbacks up to 2001 have issues with head gaskets, its a widespread problem. If the smoke is white and smells sweet it is coolant leaking into the pistons via a head gasket. Replace the head gasket before it fails. If you blow the head gasket it will ruin the engine.
Cam Seals
It is most likely the cam seals dripping small amounts of oil onto to the bottom of the engine block. When the engine warms up, it will burn the oil off.

My BMW 330i year 2001,
Im sure you already fixed your problem but replacing the batt is very easy patiently use a razor blade and cut around the seam of the key eventually the key will open up do not pry then slowly remove the batt radioshack and a few online sites sell the correct batt i actually got the one size bigger batt it still fits and has a longer life pretty simple and cost about $5

A/c blower is not working? checked fuses for a/c
The problem may be with the resistor that regulates the voltage to the blower. The best way to test is to supply voltage directly to the blower. You can bypass the resistor (the first item connected to the blower after the switch) and connect it to the power supply from the switch or the battery (I recall the blower is 12v but check to be sure) If the blower runs then the issue could be the resistor, if not then the blower. If you bypassed the resistor to the switch and not the battery and if it runs the switch is good.

Where is the final stage blower relay?
Passenger side of the console but up under the dash. Take the side carpet off the console hump. Should be one bolt and then slide it back. Two clips hold it in when you slide it carefully not to break the clips. Use a flashlight and look under the dash above the console hump. It's kinda hard to see but it's there. All you'll see is the electrical plug. Hope that helps. I've changed mine twice.
