You need to replace the bulb with the exact same one. If you use 2 different bulbs it will trigger the warning light because of the difference in resistance.

The check engine light will come on when you leave the gas cap off or don;t put it back on securely. If you have replaced it, just disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes and the light should go off. If it comes back on then there is a different problem that needs to be addressed.

most likely cause is a ignition switch.i have seen this many times.if this does not fix it there is a problem on the k bus signal line.

Open the hood and on the strut tower you should see a black plate with silver or white lettering and some words written in German. Underneath the German words is a three digit code which is the paint code. Good luck!

Check oil for signs of water, this looks like begining of a horrible head gasket removal.

There are many different coolants and if you mix 2 different ones together they can react and turn into a gel which don't do the car much good! the best way is look what colour coolant is in the system already and as long as you use the same colour coolant it will be fine, main colour coolants are green,blue pink and orange, green and blue can be mixed together as can orange and pink but Pink cannot be mixed with blue or green, i would guess the coolant in your car will be the pink stuff but please check 1st, hope this has been usefull to you.

Last month, my wife complained of high gas usage as well. I suddenly remembered that I had forgotten to change the air filter the last time I did the oil change. It had been over 5 months since I'd put a new one in. So, we got a new air filter, and monitored the usage, and it was back to normal again. Maybe try this?

For Remote locking problems I would start troubleshooting the cheap things first.
Replace the battery in your key(s).

There is a reset tool that you will need to purchase. Check some of the BMW forums online or E-Bay to purchase. Many people will recommend shorting pins and starting car etc--it's not worth the trouble. Buy the tool.

Yuo'll need to take it for diagnostic scanning to find out which air bag is showing a defect. The shop will then advise you.

if the car is using water then it must be coming out somewhere or if it is not coming out then the head gasket must have blown and the car is burning the water off in the fuel, is there any white or grey smoke from the exhaust? is the oil like a coffee colour ? if so then the head gasket has gone. take a look under the car and see if any water is leaking out from the water pump area also.

P0171 and P0174 mean "system too lean" for banks 1

Go to the glove compartment and open it. Inside the box on the top you'll see a couple of tabs twist them a quarter turn then pull down,you should see a bunch of fuses. Usually the is a card inside the fuse area describing the fuse locations.

Did you replace the water pump? BMW's pumps are **** because they have the plastic impellars. Get a metal impellar water pump an put it in. The car can't cool unless coolant is flowing. Hope this helps!

Het it put on an ODB2 reader, it is likely to be an O2 sensor going wrong or something not too bad.

Or you could just sell it because overheating the engine also destroys the transmission.

WHEN YOU WRITE IN ALL CAPS IT IS REALLY HARD TO READ. My best guess would be that the parking brake is stuck on. Other than that It could be that your transmission fluid is low, you should get it changed along with the transmission filter.
