This is most probably one of two problems, if the light goes on and off whilst turning the steering wheel, it is most probably is the slip rimg which sends the neccesary signals to the steering wheel components. it could possibly have a break in it causing eratic contact.

However, these cars are known to give problems with the passanger and driver seat occupation sensors. these are pads within the seat that detects whether someone is sitting there in order to know which airbags to deplyoy in the event it would be neccesary.

The only way to determine wich component is faulty the vehicle will have to be tested with diagnostic equipment.

are there any after market things added to the car. like a radio or alarm

Im going throught this problem also P1477 code on my E46/99 bmw 328i, also dont forget to check all the vacume lines, it is very common on this car that the hoses they use go rotten very quick, along with the intake tubes or elbows, i found massive holes on my mine also many vacume lines damaged, i still have the 1477 code, but ive seen various post were people swapped the fuel breather valve, i checked all the canister tours the rear of the vehicle, they all seemed fine , no broken lines, everything is tight but the fuel breather valve its only between 80 to 100$, compare to the 350$ canister... go figure, and its fixed quite a few cars, so ill give it try, wipe the codes, and hope it doesnt come back, good luck....

Excessive preasure in cooloing system comes from 1. overheating. 2. radiator cap not releasing at prescribed preasure. Combustion gas getting into systen via head gasket failure due to overheating and cracks or pourious cylinder head. A preasure test (120 PSI) of each cylinder at TDC firing stroke will tell you for sure where to go. make sure that the radiator cap is off when you carry out this test. 120 psi will blow radiator and or hoses . Need to stop engine turning over while you carry out this proceedure. You will identify the problem.

Very likely the battery is bad, needs replacing. You can try to open it and buy a replacement.

rubber pipe , its at the back under the pollen filter , comes as a double pipe one fat one thin , fat one is for air flow , thin one water , both for cooling the engine. The fat one was actually split , causing my engine to idle bad , so i replaced the part , engine idle is fine but now i gt that noise , and i get air suction when i take oil dipstick out while engine is running , so i am guessing something is not right but dk what
