If you have wired the radio with the "Red" live and the "Ignition live" Yellow" together as in some cases you have to depanding on the radio make then it can upset the power to the alrm and central locking, take a look at the wiring or get back to me with the make of the car radio ?

The dealer is right about the switches though this is very common, it is nearly always the hood / bonet switch. it might look fine but they can jem up internally, have you greased them all up with wd40 ?

99 model and as such its a cable and i surmise that it could have the outer cable come adrift from its clamp ,but which end of the cable ?? no idea if i had vehicle in front me a quick fiddle and i would feel it but from afar ? sorry no idea which end is loose

The code should be located in your owner manual each car has a specific code if this doesn't work call your dealership and have your bin number ready they will supply it for you good luck hope this helps

The two most likely causes are a worn front universal joint - a relatively easy fix but probably fairly expensive if done by BMW- or more serious, but lees likely, a worn bushing in the transmission tail-shaft housing. The latter will be more difficult and costly to repair but doesn't happen very often. A worn universal joint is much more likely. Dr.J

in this case you need ot contact the dealership and ask them since it is dependent on the VIN#. Also if you have ALL the information from when you purchased the car, the owners manual may have it written down in it somewhere, but it will not be printed, it will be hand written. Its a 4 digit number.

I bought my Z3 used from a Cadilac dealer, and nobody could figure out how to put the top up or down. It turned out that you have to apply the brake while you move the top up or down.

ive had the same problem on my 1998 Bmw 323i when i took my battery cable off what you have to do is leave your key in the ignition position 1 so the radio is on and says code wait. you have to leave the key in the ignition in that position for about 30- 1 hour long then it should reset back to where you enter your radio code. you only have about 3 trys to get the code right then it will say code wait again. you need to find out what your radio code is. my radio code was 46661 but we could have different radios. you can either bring your car to the dealer or just take out your radio and get the serieal number off of it which is what i did and i typed bmw radio code in online hope this helps !!

When was last "healthy tune up". Plugs,all filters including FUEL filter? I would start there to give you a good "ground zero" starting point. I suspect "tired" plugs, but do the full tune up.

Probably a vacuum leak, but wandering idle can also be caused by cracks in the intake air tube between the mass airflow sensor and the throttle body, or by gunk in the idle air control valve.

Easiest way is to take it to autozone or a place of the same sort, NAPA or whatever you have near. They can plug it up to a little connector and tell you within minutes if its bad. Generally if your alternator is bad, it wont charge your battery and will cause other functions to not be able to be used due to not enough juice in the battery. You may see the stereo not work or air conditioning or whatever. The same place that checks your alternator can also check your battery. Every place I have had mine checked has been free and is really quick.

It resets the gas consumption readings for the on board computer and avg speed and what not. Scroll through the settings and hit the S/R button and you will see it zero out.

It could mean a number of things. If the light is on you need to take this vehicle to the dealer for diagnostics. Usually its a problem with the computer, wiring, or sensors. The dealer has the tools to perform the diagnostics.

Oil change and when it is due

If it looks like the symbol in the image below, it is your brake pad wear sensor.

Your front or rear brake pads are probably worn out (and are below the minimum thickness) and need to be replaced.

Or the wear sensor could be faulty and need replacement also.
