Gearbox limp mode
use a scan tool get the scan codes , and it will tell you ERRORS.
called DTC (diag. trouble codes)
you did all this backwards. and pay big time. sorry for that,
the FSM on all cars, shows the steps. read that first. then act.
here is a crude example :
1; battery is not low, or not charged, (check that you have 13.3v to 15vdc running.
2: all fuses good.
3: SCAN the PCM ( to see TCM errors) (you skipped this)
4: if it shows a speed sensor dead, replace it or clean it.
would be SAD to replace a VSS sensor that was dirty, huh> and is so very common.
5: The tranny tests, in the FSM are under, ON CAR TEST testing.
are clear. RTM
check pump pressure.
do the driving test. (oops limhome.......)
do the stall tests. (parked brakes hard set)
make sure the TCM sends the correct logic levels to the tranny
shift solenoids, if not? fix that first. not a new tranny
If TCM output is ok, then test the solenoids, replace as needed on car.
that is the nut shell on this.,
The TCM shifts the tranny, and is just a computer, and like all computers if the inputs lie, the puter lies.
GIGO it's called, garbage in,nets garbage out.
good luck,
try alldata.com for the tests.
my fsm has 7000 pages, and 1000 just for tranny.
