Hi, My car a W203 200K, occasionaly gets stuck in

Hi there,

Your transmission is a very sophisticated piece of machinery, with many eletronic components.

Firstly, when was the last Transmission Oil/Filter change?

Contrary to what most manufacturers suggest, you should change the transmission FLUID at regular intervals - preferably, every 50,000km (or at the very least, install a separate trans cooler, to prevent fluid overheating).

Old fluid can cause premature wear and tear and many shifting issues. Changing the fluid can only be done by Mercedes (as the filler hole has a cover and NO DIPSTICK!)

Unfortunately, based on what you have described, there is a high probability that your transmission has internal mechanical faults.

The better news.....a suitable Diagnostic Scan Tool can communicate with your transmission's computer and retrieve any stored fault codes (solenoids, sensors etc), which will help you identify where the problem lies. This saves a lot of unnecessary labor, looking for the problem. A diagnostic check only takes around 15mins, so I recommend you have this done, just to be certain what you are dealing with.

Hope this helps...

Scott

2007 C230 dash light goes bright and dim in the day time

Check and see if the auto headlights are coming on when this happens. If so have the light sensor in the top of dash replaced or don't use the auto light setting.

Key wont start car

probably similar system to fords smart lock. they have a module located under the dash on the left of the steering wheel. a common fix for them is to hit the dash in that spot & it will always go. Just call an auto elec & ask if it has something like the smart lock module, if that is the probable cause, then how much to diagnose & repair.

How to check oil

You can check it through your steering wheel. You turn the ignition switch to on position and get on the left hand side buttons which look like pages touch the left page and with the upper arrow go after tha mileage to temperature gauge, then if I remember to radio or oil level, anyway press arrow button till gets you to oil check. there it tells you what is happening. always put the car to a level for correct respond. If you need any topping will tell you.

Aircon not working

Tons of reasons for this. Most common is loss of Freon and automatic cutoffs are disabling the system to keep from damaging the compressor. There are ports which allow for refilling the system. You can borrow some gauges to check the pressure. You must know where to fill the system. Some Freon cans contain a sealer which can help. Some leaks require parts. There is a fuse for most A/C units, but you really have a problem when the fuses are breaking. Depending on what you want to spend testing, the Freon cost becomes more of a consideration. If you can find a refill port close to an oblong black tank, it would be possible to use an aftermarket can of Freon and attempt to recharge the system.Get a can with instructions, a large one with a dial and sealer. The engine must be running and the A/C turned on. Sometimes a pressure switch must be jumped to activate the compressor. As you have a Premium brand of car, the job is the same as for a junker. Go somewhere universal if you want to pay someone to do it. Shops like Pep Boys, some Walmarts, Firestone, and so on may do JUST the filling. This can be good if that is the only service you need, because they can't draw you into a more expensive repair just to sell parts.I hope my solution is helpful.
