Why wont my 2000 s430 crank over sedan
Several reasons, some of which I have to guess at as you don\'t give manual or auto. In auto it could be the lockout switch that stops you starting other than in P or N going \'open\' so it thinks it is in gear, same thing happened to my Mercedes A170 CDI. This can be either in the gearbox or the selector lever depending on the car and model.Generally speaking; Connection to the starter from battery or starter motor, Check both by running a jump lead from battery to main input to starter (connection from starter solenoid to starter) and see if it cranks but take care of moving parts if it does, there will be a spark.Problems with ignotion lock, if you swing a bunck of keys on the lock you WILL mess up the barrel internal connection. If the dash lights go out when yuo crank the probably battery, any battery over 4 years old is suspect do not use a jump but a new battery to test, (borrow one and SWAP over, do NOT use leads.

EAC MESSAGE
Must be a loose connection with your battery or your car's CPU. Remove and reset the terminals. Make sure they are clean before putting them back in. Rub some 70 percent isopropyl alcohol on it and let dry. Don't clean it with a sandpaper. For the battery, make sure the terminals are not corroded. Clean well and then replace. Tighten it very well. Place a coating of grease thereafter to prevent further corrosion.
