2003 Buick Rendezvous - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Which fuse number is for the rear brake lights
The HZDL fuse in the console fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stoplamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close and battery positive voltage is supplied to both left and right stop lamp assemblies and to the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL). The CHMSL is grounded at G301. The left stop lamp is grounded at G401 and the right stop lamp is grounded at G402.

2003 Buick Rendezvous turning over, sometimes starts and sometimes won't, brand new battery?
How long since a tune-up? Check for applicable trouble codes. Some of the national brand auto stores will check codes for free.
Have to test when problem is ongoing, if it cranks good, but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse.
With intermittent issues, you have to test when problem is ongoing.
Is it a good car
Its not a bad car, it does have its issues depending on how well it was taken care of .
If it has high miles ask to see if the coolant and transmission fluids were exchanged. Typically you would want to see both exchanged at the very most for every 80 to 100K. If the car has been taken care of at regular service intervals there should be no problem.
If there are no maintenance records and it appears in poor condition, I would not consider the purchase.
Edmunds rates the 2003 at 4 out of 5 stars which is very good.
CX. Why is there no heat??
Check the radiator. If fluid is down then heater won't work.

Replacement of the starter
Hi Peter, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.
Peter, replacing a starter is easy, there are a few things to remember. (1) Always unhook the negative battery cable before removing the starter. (2) Be sure to reinstall the spacer if it has one, if it doesn't have a spacer no need to worry. (3) Some other things may need to be removed to get the starter out. NOTE: Some do, some don't, a good rule of thumb is to try an remove the starter first to see what must be removed, if anything. Some starters are held on by 2 bolts and others have 3 bolts. You need to remove the nut holding the positive battery cable to the back of the starter, then remove the wire and connector from the back of the starter, then remove the bolts holding the starter in position. Take the starter out and install the new one. That's all there is to it. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website here:

Wheel bolts 2003 buick rondavew broke how to change
the best option is to remove the hub as it requires punching out the broken sections and punching in new studs
they are splined formed under the head and require a heavy hammer to drive them in so using something like a heavy tube ( long socket) big enough to miss the head will prevent damage to the rest of the hub
