U may hav to clearit by disconnect batt afew min. Also u cud hav more issues that dont show on acode reader. They r just approximate. U really need a factory scanner to display adata stream that pinpoints problm. Private shops hav them. Adealers tool only goes back bout fiveyrs

If sometime works fine and sometime not I would suspect a bad/loose wire connection. This is not likely but is a possibility, It may seem odd but car voltage can effect the electronic in a car. I would say while the car is running check the voltage at the battery. It should be showing over 13.7V because with the car running it will be reading the voltage put out by the alternator. Depending on the vehicle I have seen them put out 13.7 to over 15 volts. I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. Having a qualified repair shop do diagnostic's on the vehicle would be your best bet . Could be any number of thing's ,engine mangement system sensor's , fuel system , ignition system , engine mechanical systems etc.... Could be as simple as just needing spark plug's & wire's , fuel filter . You might try replacing the ecu.

it has some dust in it

normally only if you replace the cylinder barrel the immobilizer section is at the end of the barrel normally under the trim and the switch is a separate unit to the barrel

You need to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop ! Low battery , does the engine turn over or spin when the key is turned to the start position .

It could be , but then again GM had instrument cluster problems back then . Bad stepper motors that controlled the gauges .An lighting problems as well . Go to a auto salvage yard an get a used one for $15.00 an see if it works .

With the door key (same one for the trunk and glove box)

There is a big short in the wires that are connected to the steering wheel. Uncovering the wires requires the steering wheel to be removed. The air bag needs to be deactivated first. Special pullers are necessary to take the wheel off. Next is to remove all the screws that hold the plastic covers in place. This will expose most of the wiring. finding a pinched or bare wire should be easy to see.

sounds like something in the driveline is out of balance example rims , worn tires ,wheel bearings , cv shafts, even loose or worn engine transmission mounts

Make sure you're tires r balanced & inflated properly
