Range rover 2003 transfer in neutral help please
hi, this is a long shot so dont give me negative if no joy.
on the p38 they suffer from a bad electronic selector.
now, i do not have a clue what gear box or transfer you have.
any way if you look at your transfer, beside where the prop comes out, is ther like a window wiper motor with 6 wires.
if so they get stuck, rust or dirt etc.
have you checked your fuses, alos i would add. again not sure on your model.
in the fuse box there is a blank fuse, when inserted it shifts it to neutral.
the dealers wont tell you where it is.
have you put any fuses in etc, i did this 5 year ago, a p38 was jump started, leads wrong way.
i got a call as the aa did not want to help anymore. aa had a hand full of fuses out, i stuck in were contacts were. after new ecu had no drive.
you are sure its not a gearbox fault, get back to me if not sure, i can tell you how to test this.

'02 BMW 330 convertible top (fully automatic)
I would start by checking the pertaing fuses and relay. To check the relay swap one from another accessory that you don't imediately need.If you top operates then you just need to replace that relay. Keep in mind you have power centers under the hood, under the dash and sometimes under the rear seat.If the roof is stuck halfway and is dangerous to drive with there should be an emergency release located between the hydraulic pistons it is usually in the for of a T-handle.

No power and Smoking Like a *****
White smoke is a sign of antifreeze (coolant) mixing with your motor oil. Check your coolant to see if it is still full. And check your motor oil to see if it is overfull!

Xenon headlight problems
there are 3 things that make the xenon in your car work the bulb, an ignitor, and a control module, you know your bulbs are ok so thats good, now you will want to swap the control modules they are a metal box attached to the headlight assembly its roughly 4"x4" you will remove the hheadlight assemblys to get to the module, there are 4 8mm bolts and then it pulls out, it the light follows the control module then thats what you will need if not you will need an ignigtor, as far as the flickering that is moet likely the module going bad, the company that makes this system is AL (automotive lighting) there is an SIB from BMW about this that says under a warr claim both control modules are to be replaced and the bulb of the faulty headlight, however i cant count the number of times i have done all that and still have to replace the ignigtor, If it is the Ign that is alot harder to swap as you have to dis assembly the entire light assembly

That is the driveaxle CV joint. can be a bit if a pain to get the axle out of the transmission and also hard to get out of the hub if its rusted up. Its not the hardest fix in the world though.

Low tire pressure light stays on
The tire pressure monitor must be reinitialized. There should be a tire button to press and hold or if you have idrive then it will be an option under car settings I think. Your BMW owners manual will have the exact procedure.
