Interior lighting stays on

This is normal for the shift indicator lift to stay on while the car is being exited. If you come back later, peek inside without opening the door and see if it is still glowing.

1. How do you replace the starter on a 2006 BMW

The starter is tucked beneath the intake manifold back near the firewall. It is not easy to replace, but I would be shocked if you have a failed starter already on a 2006. Bosch starters usually last 12-15 years and a quarter-million miles.
Describe exactly what the car does and how it sounds when you attempt to start it. Just saying that the car will not start gives me nothing to go on.

My 2006 BMW 5 series fails to start. Lights and gauges come on, but not even a click when turn key. tried both keys. checked battery. 4 days later tried ignition and car operated normally, starting

If you can catch it failing again, test for power on the small wire going to the starter solenoid while someone tries to crank it. If you have no power, check for power at starter relay and trace backwards. If you have power, you have a bad starter. They can have intermittent failures. Hopefully your starter is easy to access, some 3 series and 5 series have the starter mounted under the intake manifold and it is necessary to removed the maifold to replace or test the starter. Good luck, hope this helps.

Canobd2 diagnostic tool reader message code P0365

The generic code means the cam sensor signal is not reaching the computer. It may mean something else for a BMW but I would check to see if the cam sensor got unplugged or damaged.

Low battery and several codes displayed

you must renew the battery without any delay.Otherwise there is a risk to blow the ecu,or the alternator as is working hard to cover all the needs of the car electronics.
