Can we repair the worn out v-threads ?
Threads on the bolt are not a problem because you can replace it easily with a ne one. Stripped threads on the bolt hole are another story. You can try helicoils but the best solution is to redrill the hole and buy a tap which it a threaded tool which you slowly screw in and out of the hole going deeper bit by bit until it has cut a new thread. You will now need a larger diameter bolt. This is aesy if the hole is easily accessible and if there is enough metal around the hole to make it slightly larger. This would be a job that a small engineering works could do and it shouldn't cost a lot. You could probably even wait for it to be done. Threads strip if they are tightened too much, or if you are trying to use a bolt with the wrong thread or if you cross thread the bolt. Also some poorly finished castings have a lot of play in the threads which can cause them to strip easily.

ok that problem is where u cut the wires on the rdaio harness u cut is a dimmer wire for your lights on the radio need to figure out which if u have a autozone or advanced parts store they have a radio wire harnes kit has all color code and wire color tells what goes where and what the wire is for

How to Replace Door Locks in Avanti convertible ?
The procedure to replace the door locks in car is as follows:--
1) First of all carefully remove the arm rest and any speaker covers if speakers are connected.
2) Then remove the door panel. The door panel is connected by plastic clips.
3) Then remove the door handle screws with the help of screwdriver.
4) After the screws are removed the door handle will come out
5) Now the interior doors handle needs to be removed. the interior door handle is fitted by plastic clips you can use a pliers to pop out the plastic clip, then twist the clip to allow the interior door handle to swing free and easily come out.
6) Take the door handle out
7) Now in the door remove the rod from lock core.Then remove the two bolts holding the door handle assembly.
8) Now before removing the old door lock, please take note of the position in which it is placed. So while inserting new lock there is no problem about placing the new lock.
9) Insert the new lock carefully to the proper position. And reverse/refit all the parts which you removed while replacing the old door lock.

How to Fix Foggy Tail Lights in Avanti Convertible car?
1) Stick the masking tape and paper around the tail light to take care of the paint.
2) Take care nothing gets rubbed on the car paint or nothing gets scratched on the car light cover and paint.
3) Do it gently without any force.
4) Take a sand paper make it wet and use the wet sand paper to sand the tail lights.
5) Do this sanding until all the dirt and fogginess is removed completely.
6) You can use heavy grit sand paper if the dirt is very hard to remove.
7) After sanding is done clean and rinse the tail light.
8) After cleaning is done ,apply a plastic material polish cream on the tail light and gently rub it till the tail lights shine.

I empathize with your plight; I have a Bertone '87 X1/9, my favorite car of all time but have been fortunate in finding a low-mileage parts car in case I need any.
I grew up in original Avanti-land; South Bend, IN.
