How do I reset the inertia switch on a 1999 jaguar xk8
I'm having a similar issue to the one described in this post:
http://www.2carpros.com/questions/jaguar-xj8-1998-jaguar-xj8-car-turns-over-then-stalls
However, I can not find an inertia switch. I have a 1998 Jaguar XK8 convertible. Does being a convertible make a difference in this switch's location?
I removed the passenger kick panel and also checked in the fuse box door on the dash at the passenger side. Thank you.
My front widows on my 1999 xk8 Jaguar will not come up I got up this morning and they started to come down on their own now the are all the way down and will not come up no clicking sound
Same thing has happened on mine!
The solution is to reprogram the window limits. You need to sit in the car with doors shut! Turn the key in ignition in position I or II, roll down the window all the way and keep holding the switch for 5 seconds, then roll the window up and again keep the switch pressed for 5 seconds, repeat same steps for other door.
Reprogramming is also described in the owners manual. I don't know how mine became deprogrammed, should only happen if the battery is disconnected!

My 2002 jaguar xtype was stolen is there any way it can be located thru the key fob? My car did not has a gps system installed at the time
Unfortunately there isn't. The key fob is purely a gadget to op the doors and trunk using a localised radio transmitter. You need a proper tracker which you hide somewhere in the vehicle out of sight. Even the GPS is not trackable, it only supplies the location to the person inside the vehicle.
There are four likely outcomes
The car turns up and it was used by joyriders.
It is going to be used in a robbery and will be torched.
It will be taken apart for spares.
Or it will be on a container ship heading for Africa.
I had a Lada stolen, it was found damaged and abandoned near a quarry, it had been damaged in a crash and someone stole the HUGE battery in it.
I had a Kawasaki 250 stolen and it was never recovered.
Sorry you lost your Jag, I'm British. I believe in Karma :>)
