2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Its underneath the motor on the left side. Kinda hard to get to.

Buy a new crank sensor from a Mitsubishi dealer. For that sensor always buy OEM parts. More expensive, but 100% reliable.Any codes? Maybe another sensor has gone bad? MAF?

Disconnect the battery for 5 minuets, and it will clear the codes.

I experienced the same. Rather than replace costly cats I tried to change gas to highest octane - and voila! - all lamps get off.

probably not but if may have damaged the timing belt and put the valve timing out and that would prevent the engine from starting

I would say it is not getting fuel.

Shop manual or owner's manual should have this.

Might have burned out your fuel pump, its inside the tank and needs the fuel to be around it to keep it cool. Not widely known but running below a 1/4 tank can shorten the lifespan of the pump that and not changing the filter.

it won't take anything if the a/c clutch isn't engaging could have a deeper problem with system relays , clogged filter , evaporator , condenser ect should get system checked out

Its best to evacuate the a/c but if you are careful you may be able to hook up your freon tank and lightly charge the system if it works cold just let it be and if when it is real hot it feels warm instead of cold you might add just a little more freon but be careful.

Put the battery back in.

Sounds possible you have the friction plate in backwards and there is no clearance. Retrace your steps and check the clutch operating mechanism, then any gear linkage. With the clutch centre plate, the raised part of the spring carrier is usually facing outwards toward the pressure plate fingers.

how much was taken off flywheel ? was there a shim between crank and flywheel ? did you make sure spline count on clutch plate matched spline count and diameter on input shaft to transmission

did you put clutch plate in facing correct direction

check to see if car has 20 inches of vacuum at idle. less than 20 would indicate a clogged catalytic converter which would give you those symptoms

Maybe the carbon cannister is loaded up. Try parking the car facing uphill and see if that's better. Starter is probably OK. Need more symptoms. OR it will be 20 question time. Takes a LONG time cranking B-4 the engine begins to run? That's what I'm guessing. Does nothing to take the key back out and try it again.Just keep cranking until the engine starts to run.Don't be afraid to crank it for 15 seconds,or so.

Could be a bad tempature sensor but if the guage starts low and increases to hot, I would have it checked.
