Sounds like it could be gear box issues. Overdue for service I expect.

It could be the transmission has quit working and the transmission is bad. Since your vehicle is 25 years old now there could be a lot of problems that could be wrong with it or it might just be the fact that it has died on you guys now.

You can't, it is part of the anti-theft system and controlled by the Engine Control Module. It is an integrated system specifically there to stop what you are trying to do. You can't reprogram the ECM. The key has a coded transponder and there is a coded receiver in the steering column near the lock. If the codes match, the ECM allows power to the ignition system. You have to fix whatever issue you have, not find a way around it.

My 2003 dodge diesel truck would loose all power while driving. I did have bad ground battery cables, thought it might be that changed them. Still did it. If my truck sat in the winter to long the batteries would go bad. Change them. Nothing. Changed to switch in the column still nothing. Next to the fuse box under the hood is a little positive terminal cap (it feeds power to the fuse box) I removed it to expose the screw. Then I followed the wire , it went straight to the positive battery cable terminal (it's molded into the terminal) I took a volt reading from the negative terminal to the positive bolt under the cap by the fuse box and took a reading (8 volts should be 12+) I took a jumper wire from the positive terminal of battery to the bolt under the cap and pow lights. I also noticed that the positive terminal would get hot before where the wire is molded into the lead must have a bad connection So I temporarily drove a screw right where the wire goes into the lead and problem temperately (probably just leave it) fixed. I'm so happy I hope this helps someone it took me a long time to fix this.

It depends on the catalytic converters if you have 2 converters you will have 4 O2 sensors one between the engine and the converter and another behind the catalytic converter so there's 2 sensors per bank the sensors won't be in the same place on the other side but they have to be there. Look in the under hood fuse block and find the Auto Shut-Down relay and feel to see if it clicks when someone turns the switch on and off if it does you need to have it checked with a scanner to see where the problem is. If the scanner says no power or no communication just check the power wire on the computer and if there's power junk the ECM. I hope this helps. Take Care.

Ok if you think it is missing from 2 cylinders do a spark test to see where the misfire is then when you would of done that and if you do have spark at all the cylinders do a compression test on the ones that you don't hear a change in the running of the engine,and also if your check engine light is on her it scan to pin point the problem I hope this helps you

Sounds like the trans could use a service, it might be too late to save it and will need a rebuild, but your description sounds like low pump pressure.

You could try going to a specialist that isn't the dealer. The specialist may have a more detailed knowledge of the transmission you have fitted.
