2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ - Page 6 Questions & Answers
How do I remove a blown out rear end of a 2007 Avalanche?
Assuming axles are still in place and bearing caps are still in placeThe axles should be pulled out, if they have not been pulled out after the C locks removed. Then it is a matter of just the bearings on each side of the carrier- 1 lock bolt and 2 retaining bolts on each of the 2 bearing caps. Back each cap out slightly, put transmission or transfer case in neutral and the differential will essentially drop right out.If you have the axles out and caps off, back one of the nuts still in contact with the bearing until it falls out, the loosen the other, and it should fall loose too. The carrier should then rotate out if vehicle is in park, or roll out if in neutral..
