Malibu hybird 2008 /service traction /engine power reduced
Your best bet would be to take it to a qualified repair shop. Special tool's and knowledge are needed . Scan tools , electrical diagnostic , service information . Your vehicle has a bunch of computers (control modules) C.A.N. cantroller area network serial data communication networks . Hi speed , med. speed , low speed . The power steering is electronic ,computer controlled , sensors on the steering shaft .With those light's lit , DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes are stored etc... Plus there is a real chance of being electrocuted. High voltage !
Why does my 2008 chev Malibu drive like it has no power steering?
Are there an light's lit on the instrument your not familiar with ? DO you have regular Malibu or Malibu Classic ?
Also does yours have hydraulic power steering or Electric power steering ? GM had known problems with EPS - electric power steering . Your best bet would be to take it an have it checked out at a qualified repair shop .

Find fuse box for 2008 chevy malibu
Like most newer cars, your Malibu has two fuse boxes. One is under the hood, just outboard from the battery. [really lousy place to put electrical stuff, right next to a container full of acid. Be sure to keep the outside of your battery clean, or you will be buying a new fuse box/wiring harness in the future] The second fuse box is located in the trunk, just above the driver's side wheel well [left rear wheel well]
2008 chevy malibu third brake light not working
Stop Lamps
The body control module (BCM) is responsible for controlling the stop lamps. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the BCM will receive a signal from the brake pedal position sensor. The BCM then supplies battery positive voltage to both left and right stop lamp assemblies and to the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL). The stop lamps are grounded at G401 and G403. The CHMSL is grounded at G302.
Did you check the blub , is there power ( B+) at the third light ? Is the ground G302 good ? Do you have a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter , do you know how to use one ? Do you know what voltage drop is ? an know how to test it ? Check the stop lamp relay in the under hood fuse / relay box.

You can take it to a automotive glass shop and they can reseal it in just a few minutes and probably won't charge you to much if anything.
I have a 08 Chevy Malibu that won't start. My dash light come on and so will my headlights. It had a good battery connection and the starter is good. It did have a blown ignition senor so we replaced
ignition sensor ? I been fix cars for over thirty years an that's a new one for me . I worked for a Chevy dealer for a number of years ! Plus a Cadillac , Pontiac , GMC etc... Maybe you mean ignition switch ? Or crankshaft position sensor ?
Now then lets see if we can decipher the problem your having , When you turn the key to the start position does anything happen ? I am trying to determine if you have a no crank - no start or a crank no start problem . Now which is yours doing or not doing ! When you turn the key to start the vehicle does the engine do anything?
You need to know how the starting system works , when you turn the key in the ignition , the switch sends a discreet voltage signal to the BCM - body control module , an if there is no anti-theft system problems the BCM sends a message on , well here read this from the service information manual for your vehicle .
Circuit Description
When the ignition switch is turned to the Start position, the body control module (BCM) receives battery voltage on the ignition 1 voltage circuit, and less than 5 volts on the off/run/crank voltage circuit. The BCM supplies voltage to energize the RUN/CRANK Relay 32. The BCM sends a high speed GMLAN serial data message to the engine control module (ECM) that the key is in the start position. The ECM receives the message from the BCM, and also receives a serial data message from the transmission control module (TCM) containing the shift lever position. If the shift lever is in Park or Neutral when ignition switch is turned to Start, the ECM supplies voltage to the START Relay 31. The START relay supplies voltage to the S terminal of the starter solenoid, through the 30 A STRTR Fuse 26, in order to crank the engine. This is a very complex system , an without a factory diagnostic scan tool it would be difficult too fix . I suggest you take this to the dealer or a ASE certified repair shop . You could make the problem worst then it is , You could spend thousands fixing it . Do you know what a GMLAN serial data communication network is ? Or how the Anti - theft system works ? I suggest you take it to someone who does !
Chevy malibu key stuck in ignition
I have a 2001 malibu the the key will not turn completely off(sometimes).
the key switch is on the dash and the shifter is on the middle console. there is a cable going from the switch to the shifter.
I found that if I disconnect the cable from the shifter and push the cable towards the switch, then leave it disconnected I don't have the key stuck issue and the switch will go all the way to the OFF position.
also there is a cylinder connected to the shifter, mine has had the wires cut(from a previous owner) you may need to unplug it.
