Take it to an independent (not a chain) muffler shop and have it replaced. I'm guessing around $200. Also, have the engine mounts checked. If they're worn, the engine rocks too much and breaks the flex pipe.

more than likely will need to drop the tank to access the pump. unless your vehicle mounts it's pump under the rear seat...

Is your vehicles check engine light on ? Or a yellow wrench symbol lit ? How many miles on the car ? Ever had transmission service done ? Is the fluid full ?

Could be gas has leaked out causing low pressure and no cold air!

Check your battery. if no crank. If it cranks check for spark and fuel pressure.

(Were you near empty?). Obstructed supply pick up in tank? Or broken. This is possible, if pickup was broken, the line is now higher and you could have an 'out of fuel' type symptom, at 1/4 tank. check the motor mounts

If you have not yet replaced the keychain remote's battery, it is probably due. Most remotes use a battery type available at drugstores and the computer department of major stores such as Walmart, etc.

under the bonnet, you going to put the car on the stand or use a lift to unbolt the screws under the engine.

This could be the key, the key receiver, the instrument panel(which has the security chip in it) or the PCM(power train control module). Your going to have to have it scanned to see where the problem might be. You might as well get it to a dealer, as most shops will charge you and then tell you it has to go to the dealer...Ford security is a pain.

when you brake ,maybe the engine moves due to broken motor mounts, that can cause problems with or on your hoses , like . inlet hose,vacum hose, crank case hose, and pcv hose. most like it the last one.

Remove pos battery termal for 15 min

The car is designed to Not shift into overdrive until the engine warms up.

run fault codes to determine why the transmission is staying in gear and not down shifting as the speed slows. Check for TCM problem. If nothing shows then have a pressure test done to determine if there is a mechanical fault in the box

Go to the Ford dealership to get the cap.

There are drains under the battery box and under the ECU module. When they plug with dirt, pine needles, whatever, the water fills up the space and backs into the vents or wherever it can leak through the firewall and usually ends up in the rear footwell, drivers side. If you don't get on it and maintain those drain holes, it will start to take out the electrical. Gets very expensive for a simple design flaw. The carpet has to come up and thoroughly dried as well. Not much fun and a lot of work.

I WORK FOR A DIFFERENT CAR MANUFACTURER HOWEVER IN MOST CASES MIRRORS ARE INSTALLED BEFORE THE DOOR PANEL IS INSTALLED, SO IT IS VERY POSSIBLE THAT THERE ONE OR MORE SCREWS/BOLTS/NUTS BEHIND THE DOOR PANEL. IF YOU HAVE A POWER MIRROR OR HEATED MIRROR YOU WILL LIKELY HAVE TO REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL TO ACCESS WIRE HARNESS. THE DOOR PANEL SHOULD NOT BE VERY HARD TO REMOVE THOUGH. YOU WILL NEED TO FIND SOME SCREWS THAT HOLD THE PANEL ON, TYPICALLY UNDER THE PULL HANDLE AND OPEN HANDLE (MAYBE COVERED BY A PLASTIC CAP). THE PANEL IS ONLY HELD ON WITH PLASTIC CLIPS, GENTLY PULL THE PANEL AWAY FROM METAL DOOR PANEL. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR WINDOW IS DOWN THIS MAY MAKE IT EASIER TO REMOVE AND REINSTALL PANEL

I just bought some Lucas injector cleaner that you put in with gas, I was idling at 2.5 since i have been that on every other tank full, my rpm has come down to 1 and my gas mileage is much better
